+1 million Their terrible public policies have destroyed this county. |
So we took the SROs out of schools, reassigned them to the streets (meaning more officers on the streets), and we still had more homicides (none of which occurred inside school buildings)? It's almost like there's something going on this year that is separate from taking SROs out of schools. |
This wouldn't have happened if we hadn't taken the SROs out of the schools! Or something. |
sounds like you support more police everywhere. |
Where do you get that from? More police didn't stop the homicides. |
| Since the anti-SRO crowd believes correlation equals causation we should all be scared of what would happen if we increased police in schools since clearly more police means more homicides. |
Just more donuts |
And what does that have to do with SROs in schools? In fact since they're not in schools, they should be on the beat fighting crimes but it seems like they are not doing a good job at that either. Worthless anywhere |
This is the approach now. Cops remain close to the schools/school community through tout the school day. I’m only familiar with the incident at Blair (because that’s where my kid is), and cops were at the school immediately. |
What you’re describing is the role that security guards fill in the high schools, and the security guards are still in all of the high schools. I’m not sure of the exact number of security personnel there is at my kid’s school (5 or 6, I would guess) and they are very immersed in the school community and know the students. Sh*t is crazy right now, the kids have not “bounced back”, lots of kids have lost family members to Covid. |
| I see a cop parked in the Magruder High school parking lot almost every other day. |
| Let's put the National Guard in all schools. |

I want the SROs to stay out and just call the police every time there is an incident.
It was too easy for schools and SROs to sweep things under the rug. Get some of these violent kids out of schools and into detention or prison. |
