Is your mask medical grade? Are the masks of those around you medical grade? Do you as everyone you encounter wear the mask perfectly 100% of the time? Answer no to just one of these questions and understand that you have no protection. |
Here we go again…. Sorry, not my problem. |
| Finally. Masking requirements are beyond a joke at this point. The majority of us are vaccinated and moving on with your lives. Those struggling to accept the fact that COVID was a fleeting distraction from their normal lives should genuinely seek out a hobby or therapist. |
| I’m done with masks and done with this pandemic. Don’t care anymore! |
We are living our lives. Stop devolving into hysterics over a thin strip of fabric. |
Wrong. |
NP. You're right, you have 10-15 percent protection. |

Robert White in favor of making DC a tent city that has to mask until God knows when apparently. I don't like Bowser but ... JFC.
At my grocery store half the employees aren't even wearing masks, and at least a handful of patrons. Others just have cloth or their noses out. Many letting their 2+ year olds run around without masks. The people following the rules are probably the ones who we least need to anyway. I fully believe masks reduce the risk of infection, and that masks had a place and still do in medical environments, but forcing the rule followers to mask indefinitely is stupid and of minimal benefit under these conditions. Combine that with the nonsense rules for bars and clubs, and the refusal to allow gyms to adopt a vaccine mandate instead. Vaccines don't 100% prevent spread, but they reduce the risk of it MORE THAN MASKS DO, and definitely more than this half assed actual use of masks and acceptance of cloth masks still going on. I'm tired of it. So glad to see the mandate go. |
Your kids can be vaccinated soon. I am sympathetic to weakened immune systems but not to the point of making the vast majority mask forever. Problem is, when will you ever think masks should not be mandated? How is it different from flu or any other virus? They are developing therapies that make hospitalization and death much less likely. |
| Have we flattened the curve yet? |
Show me the link where this is the case for kids under 5. Thanks! |
| Does this mean Bowser's senior staff, the deputy mayors, chancellor and council members will actually start going to work? If not, at this point they should just turn over the Wilson Building to SOME. We need the housing and they're all at home. On Zoom. Pretending to run a city. |
https://fortune.com/2021/11/12/covid-vaccines-for-little-kids-under-5-pfizer-2022/ Pharma is aiming for first half if 2022 for ages 2 - 5. You are just going to have to wrap your mind around the reality of what is happening. The world is moving forward. Even Laquandra Nesbitt acknowledged this in the Mayor's press conference announcing the relaxing of the mandate. "The world is not necessarily set up for the unvaccinated anymore." If I were you, I'd be thinking about how my family will cope with this reality and stop arguing with strangers about something you can't stop. |
They're not really widely available yet. I would have waited until this current crop of kids have the chance to be fully vaccinated (Dec) and til the big winter travel holidays are over. Then yes masks optional precluding a new mutatiion/deadlier wave that evades current protocols. |
Please get a hobby. Better yet a charity that would benefit from your intensity. You could do so much positive!! |
