YEP. People will think you are wearing your Land's End nightgown. |
I already said I'm not wearing it. No need to pile on with the rude comments. |

I like this one for an indoor outdoor winery wedding that isn’t black tie

Very strong jammy vibes. It's the loose fit AND the neckline AND the elastic cuffs AND the red plaid.
I have been eyeing this dress but don't have anything to wear it to currently. You should get it! It would look fantastic for a winery wedding with a cocktail hour, it's seasonally appropriate, would pair great with a pair of boots and maybe a leather jacket or a structured blazer (maybe in camel?). Plus it looks comfy and it's velvet so it would be cozy too. And not an LBD. https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/let-me-be-embroidered-velvet-midi-dress |
| We just came back from an all outdoor rustic wedding with temps in the 50s. I'd say almost anything goes -- in between your two examples of too casual and LBD. Dressy top and pants are fine because you'll need your coat. I was surprised/impressed that many of the women upped their coat game (wraps/ponchos, cool & colorful, fuzzy, furry, etc). Guys pretty much stuck with blazers or puffer jackets. |
It's cute, but I wouldn't wear it to a wedding. Would it work for your workplace? I'd wear it to work or to church. |
Also nice pics, especially the top one! |
| Yes you can wear dress pants and a nice top, especially since it’s outdoors and it’s going to be cold this weekend. |
Ooh. I love the last one. Different and not “the usual” but still elegant |
THIS looks great, OP. Did you see it? Out of all the suggestions this one looks most appropriate for a barn wedding & reception, tights and boots. |
| I am not a snob on these things, but I don't consider that appropriate for anywhere outside the house and only inside the house wih people who are your family |
wow this is so much better than the $99 Anne Klein polyester dress I bought for a barn wedding. |
