Investment in new fields is probably the answer. We need more fields outdoor and indoor. Anyone?

But tied into this is that ASA has expanded the number of teams slightly (e.g., U13 and U14 now have silver teams)

Are you sure? My son is a U13 (white team), and says that there is only a black team, and no silver.

Oh I see, it is too crowded of a place. Time to merge some of your programs with the nearest county club (skip McLean).

If you’re part of the club, you got it. If you’re not, why do you care?

Why does it surprise you that clubs are run as a business? Paying customers is called a business. It's really odd that people think youth soccer clubs are part of some higher mission like some NGO trying to solve world hunger. Soccer clubs are businesses, with paying customers, salaried employees, they market to attract customers, have competitors vying for the same customers.

Rec family here. It's a nonprofit ostensibly, but boy does it make a ton of money. Check out the 990, last I saw they had $2M in reserves.

A nonprofit usually has about 6m-1yr in reserve so the reserve should be more like 3M for a 6M org. Also, i think the ED is fairly paid by DC standards IF this is part-time but it seems low for full time.

No one in Arlington wants to cross a bridge every evening for practice.

Nobody should traffic in rumors like this. Just trying to stir the pot. If it happens, it happens. Worry about it then. Otherwise you may be worrying about something that is false.
