Thin / skinny

Don’t be jealous of me. I am skinny because of stress. I’d trade a simpler life for a few pounds.

+1, but swap stress for anxiety.

I think the healthy response is that health, not weight, should be our goal. As we age our bodies will deteriorate to a degree and being healthy has an impact on that. It's a common assumption that heavy people are unhealthy but being too thin can also be unhealthy.

True. I envy people with a little fat in all the right places. Slim but curvy is my ideal

You mean like the slim thick body type?

No such body type unless its in African women. The Kardashians have all modified their bodies to be thin and curvy

Simply not true. Some white women have similar proportions to black women.

It's all about the waist to hip ratio. The smaller the waist, the curvier your appearance. I am size 6. My waist is 12 inches smaller than my hips, butt and shoulders. People comment on how thin I am. I'm not a stick figure, I am curvy.

OP, how much do you weigh and how tall are you?

I’m married to one - athletic, small waist, flat stomach, big booty, muscular legs, etc. She has had a boob job but the rest was all natural. Her mom had the exact same body type.

Because all things being equal, looks, age, education, whatever if you’re thin you “win” in our society. You will be chosen first. It’s how the system is structured and we all know it! Of course you’re jealous. That’s life though so get over it and get on living your best self!

I know how you feel OP. As someone who has always struggled with my weight and has to work very hard to lose and not gain weight I have always been envious of the women who are small and look cute pregnant or the moms holding infants while still looking like a 20 yr old in their bikini.

Are fit, OP? Be honest.

Sedentary lifestyles are the new smoking.

+2. I have a lot of friends who are the Botox, fillers, etc. types, and I don't go down that route but I'm dealing with a tremendous amount of stress right now and the weight is just dropping off me. It's nothing to be envied, but guaranteed next time I see them it will be "wow, you look great." No, I don't. I don't feel great, and I would trade this lack of stress and anxiety for my weight back in a heartbeat.

Whenever I see someone fat with jiggly arms I think "lacks self control" or "depressed and needs food to cope".

NP.

No - we are not triggered. We just see things the way they very likely are.

Do you believe a person with “fat, jiggly arms,” is perfectly fit, healthy, and athletic?

Whenever I do, I think: I would love to be that skinny so I could eat whatever I wanted until I got to my normal weight again. My husband is always amused by this.

I am fit/thin/athletic with a slow metabolism so I assume they have a fast metabolism. That's my envy---to be able to work out less and eat more! I work my butt off 6 days per week and healthy diet to maintain.
