...who prefers junky fast food vs food made with fresh, high quality ingredients. |
| Tatte is a subsidiary of JAB Holdings which acquired a majority stake several years ago and has aggressively expanded the Tatte brand in DC and elsewhere. JAB are a major player in consolidating American coffee / fast food culture (Krispy Kreme, Panera Breads, Pete’s Coffee etc), so in many ways Tatte carries on that tradition in albeit much prettier interiors and Turkish-adjacent menu offerings! |
| Their house latte with halvah is delightful. |
So, the quality will be heading downhill? |
| They are everywhere in Boston |
And we’re happy to have exported it! Now, could DC send us a few more Cava’s and &pizza’s? Call your mother would be welcome, too. |
Perhaps if you ate a little junk you might be less constipated. |
&pizza sucks. |
| Love th Bethesda one! The hot food is so good! |
| Not a fan |
I don’t think the quality will go anywhere, but when you’re baking at such voluminous scale, it’s not in their interest to make and sell the kind of pastry like one might find at a smaller scale place - like Seylou, Pluma Bluebird, Bread Furst etc. That said, I think JAB/Tatte is doing an amazing job business wise - it’s exciting to see a concept get picked up, funded well, and throughly developed along a strong brand identity (menu, interior design, packaging, marketing, social media etc). |
| Side question: "taht" or "tah-TAY"? I assumed the former, then heard someone use the latter. But on the website, there's no aigu over the e (and there is one for other words). |
| If you have food allergies, be very careful - they straight out sold me something as gluten-free that was not...I got very sick. |

It's "TAH-tay," according to someone I know who works at one. |
