The day has just begun… let me tell you why SY + (or some variation) will be implemented in all leagues… |
In some ages, yes. Like showcases, U18/19. Probably not across the board though. |
Maybe GA will take SY+ guy and his ideas |
If they do, we’re getting SY+ hats. |
Today the day we reach 1000! |
The ONLY way we get SY+ is if we do 2, 6-7 month SY teams! It's best way to have same grade together AND solve for RAE! |
Actually no this is because clubs will have the best players born 1/1 to 7/1 play up on the older team stacking the older team with all the best players. The second half of the season team/league will become the B team. |
No, they could do a strict rule that IF you play up, it has to be in the next grade. They NEED to do it. Let's GO! |
They might not call it SY+60 but we all know that theres going to be waivers for HS Seniors and Maybe Juniors to play down. If this happens its also very likely that some type of 7/1-9/1 waiver is also implemented. The one thing that nobody wants is regrades (ie 16 year old freshman) playing down for wins against regularly aged players. Before someone says but but but biobanding bla bla bla. This happens in MLSN so regular teams can be competitive against MLSN Acadamies. Yes some clubs use this for wins against other non Academy teams but nobody cares because everyone sees through it. In MLSN the quantifier of "good" is the number of players you send to the Acadamy team. |
Not this shit again. Most clubs won't have the depth to field competitive teams in 6 month age bands. It will be a few ECNL level players with EDP level teams. |
Wow, that is an interesting way to adddress. With that rule you would have 2 top teams per age group and 2 separate leagues. This would translate to more money for clubs and you could scrimmage the teams against each other. Likely 1 coach could coach both teams as a big pool. |
What are you talking about -- many clubs have 4 or 5 teams in an age group. With RAE addressed, we'll finally get a more even age distribution, too. It's a win-win! |
Even if that's the case, it's better for all for development. |
ODP does 2, 6-month teams, now. |
It's not. It is better for RAE, but not better for development. Playing with and against the best is what makes a player better. Not playing with kids toeing the ball and running into each other. How would that help development. Yeah ODP does it but they run across a state. It can absolutely be done at the level. But not with all these pay to play clubs. As is some clubs in ECNL and MLSN struggle to have a halfway decent goalie. Now you need 2x that per club. Plus extra coaches, more refs, more fields, it won't fit their business model. |
