Now we know GA (copy and paste) is SY, MLSN will be SY. The only question is the MLSN Academies |
I think this is correct. Not because GA is going SY, but because there is no other logical solution. Will be interesting to see what MLS academies do. Their purpose is to develop players and make money by signing or selling them. To that extent, most (all?) players they will make money off of (which are a very very small percentage of the total kids at the academy) are being played up. There are some academies that are very strict with their age groups and only play kids up if they are in the top half of the older age group. Other academies regularly float kids back and forth between age groups. Does the age group structure really matter to the academies? |
Anyone want to leak the specific details? |
BY crazies are in shambles…. |
I guess this contribution gets us closer to 1,000 but that's about it. |
6.5 pages to go! |
No because they already bio-band. Kids can play up or play down already, so whatever 12 month range hasn't mattered to the academies in the past, now or future. |
Will be there as soon as this 3 day weekend, as late as next week. Or people could have just waited until post announcements to have a discussion about the decision. |
🤣 this again. There is only one SY date. 9/1 And the commissioner didn’t say diddly. 🤡 |
Said the SY-hat crazy |
Making fetch happen! |
It’s not MLS Next p2p or Academy clubs, it’s the MLS Next league who goes SY or remains BY. |
The commissioner said Diddy, you 🤡. Now you just have to wait for it l, you 🤡. The rest of us know now. |
SY+ is quiet today. |
Yes that’s true, but academies could stay BY and just play up. They don’t have the youth teams, second teams, or any of the logistics issues that p2p clubs do. No idea if there is an advantage to this or even if they care about age cutoffs, just acknowledging that it could be different. |
