So, here is the problem...the tariffs were supposed to help pay for the tax cuts. The GOP is already forming a budget that has the tax cuts, so I guess we will just add another $8 trillion to the debt?

Meanwhile, the damage done to the markets and the trust for the US abroad is done.

Why would you think there will be tariffs? I doubt there will be any meaningful tariffs with Mexico and Canada. China is another story.
