ECNL moving to school year not calendar

You are worried the change might drop your kid from ECNL to RL with the same end result...they aren't getting recruited? Or maybe they can use the new change to move up to the ECNL team and then still not be recruited.

I know we are all looking for advantages in life, but it becomes pretty obvious who the top players are. They are often playing up already.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking youth soccer's main and only goal is to churn out the top 1 percent of players or it's only goal is to get kids college scholarships. Or even that playing in college is every kids goal. 'Cause it isn't.

Then what is your goal and how does it have anything to do with BY and SY? I'm asking if you aren't trying to be at the top then why do you care about this?

Seriously though
If your kid was a decent player, you wouldn't be on here fighting for change to SY

You'd just be churning along doing what you (your kid) need to do to excel

Well, being at "your top" isn't necessarily same as "the top."

Well life is hard and if you get moved down to RL because of this age change then you were a bubble player to begin with. So "your top" is RL. Again...not sure why this matters to parents who don't have kids who are in the mix for academies and scholarships.

The answer is RAE and parents wanting advantages for their kids, always has been. But if someone hasn't picked up on that after 99 pages, they never will see it.

All the complaints about BY, other than recruiting, affect kids' experiences. Most kids in travel realize they will not be playing in college, but still want to be their best, play through high school, and have the most fun possible doing so.

The cynical a-hole opinion of the top 1% on here is that if your kid isn't good enough to play college your opinion shouldn't matter. The cynical a-hole opinion of the bottom 99% is that if you need to maintain your RAE advantage just for the privilege of spending $100k on club soccer and getting 20% tuition for a marketing degree at Southwestern Montana Tech, your prize isn't worth sacrificing anyone else's experience.

Oh no that is plain to see so much so that even you can figure it out...but the "why" is not and the point of the comment. If you are counting on RAE for your opportunities, then the ship has sailed my friend. So why worry about it? If you are good enough then you are good enough.

I'm looking at the UMD Terps, Georgetown and GW Men's rosters

I have no delusions my DS in ECNL will have a shot at these high level programs.
It is a long shot at best.

You can never please everyone no matter when they do the cutoff. Do you know why? Because there will always be a very large portion of parents who think their kids are much better than they really are and will find excuses as to why they aren't making it (whatever that bar is for you). Youth soccer and this thread is filled with delusional parents with kids (who don't work hard enough) wanting something for nothing.

Yeah, we get it. You think only the top 1 percent matter.

Everyone matters, but not in regard to moving BY to SY.

Bitter coach? No matter what field you can start to hate the customers, I sympathize.
