Save yoruself a lot of time and do some research about how the parents at Whitman stopped the tower from going up there

Vote a differemt county council in next time, people had the chance to do it in November but didn't. When will peopel learn the county council is the worst and got us into this financial disaster.

Whitman High School stopped a tower.
Pyle Middle School stopped a tower.
Julius West Middle School stopped a tower.

PTA at Sligo Middle School is silent on this placement. They should be holding meetings and alerting the parents. Sign is up in front of school that announces placement.

It's that east/west MoCo dichotomy again. Middle and lower-middle class parents, some with few resources, all with muffled voices vis-a-vis the BOE. See other thread for more details.

Daly ES in Germantown has a cell tower right on the playground next to the blacktop. Parents didn't want it. PTA said no. Neighbors said no.

This is my point exactly. Poor school population ---> Jerry Weast does what he wants because the parent community doesn't have time, resources or money to push back. Affluent school population ---> Jerry Weast caves under pressure.

These are the stats for Daly Elementary:

And here are the stats for East Silver Spring Elementary:

Now look at the ones for Pyle:

And Whitman:

It's really not difficult to see how these things play out in MoCo.
