What law? Paying a special prosecutor is not against the law.

If she hired him improperly and benefited from his employment (vacations and cruises), then it could well be criminal.
On another note, she is being called to testify in Wade's divorce proceedings on Jan. 31, two days before her response is due to the court over the current allegations against her.

Okay. And if she murdered him, that could also be criminal. Since we're dealing in hypotheticals.

She is not being accused of murdering him.
She is being accused of improperly hiring him and benefiting from his employment.
And, evidently one judge sees merit to the accusations at this point.
Defend her all you want. If the accusations are true, she could be fighting her own RICO case.

What judge sees merit? He's holding a hearing. That's what happens when a party files a motion. It doesn't mean anything about merit one way or the other. You are nuts if you think she's going to get criminally charged over a workplace affair.

Misappropriations of federal funds earmarked for Covid work, honest services fraud (vendor kickback), RICO charges, misrepresentation to the County resulting in financial benefits etc. All either federal or State criminal felony charges. There may be more I missed not to mention ethical violations for potential disciplinary action by the GA Bar.

Durham will get right on that.

Hearing on allegations against Fulton DA Fani Willis set for February 15.

It isn't just about an affair, or mostly. It's that Fani Willis hired her lover, who was unqualified, and paid him twice what D.A. RICO expert lawyers would get. And she is personally benefitting from that money because he is taking her on lavish vacations.

And she appointed him without the permission of the Fulton County Board which she needed. And she co-opted money that was specifically earmarked for backlogged Covid era cases.

And both Wade and Fani Willis have been meeting with Joe Biden's White House counsel to plan their attack on Trump.

Cool. So how does that change the facts of the case?
Does that mean Trump didn’t ask Raffensberger to find him 11,000 extra votes?

It means the case will be tried by a different DA or DA's office and the delay will cause the trial to take place in 2015 which is after the election. Exactly what DJT wants.

You mean he wants people to be distracted by the Benghazi hearings?

Fanni needs to step down so she can take care of personal issues, I'm sure the Governor will appoint a worthy successor.

This is a typical digging a hole for someone else and then fall in it yourself situation.

I take it Georgia is not a no-fault divorce state. Such a sad thing, to have trials like this with evidence.

It is a no-fault divorce state if the parties claim the marriage is “irretrievably broken." Evidently, that is what Nathan Wade stated on his filing.
However, things got nasty......

Lawyers for Joycelyn Wade, a stay-at-home mother for 20 years, have complained in court filings that her estranged husband “knowingly obstructed” her efforts to obtain information about his finances amid the divorce.

When Nathan Wade didn’t comply with an order to turn over information, a judge cited him for contempt on Aug. 17 in Cobb County Superior Court. In a Nov. 20 filing, Joycelyn Wade’s lawyers said he hadn’t disclosed enough information about his taxes, bank accounts and credit cards for their expert to evaluate.

Wade “has provided nearly nothing to defendant for her support and survival as her own bank account is often in overdraft,” even as he earned nearly $700,000 from Fulton County and ran his own law firm, her lawyers wrote in a Dec. 7 filing.

So, this suit isn't so much about the divorce, but about alimony and such.

1) he isn't "unqualified" and has a career doing just this sort of work
2) he has been paid more by other jurisdictions than what is being paid with his current role
3) vacations - is that going to be a thing now?

As to your #2 - Citation needed..... I am hearing that with his payments from Fulton Co, is the highest paid prosecutor in the state.

And, per those vacations......
