Choose whatever club/league you want. Nobody cares. I will say that choosing one league over the other based on which league allows your kid to play against younger players is pathetic. Talented players generally are looking to play up not down. |
It’s something I would consider if I had a trapped 8th grader heading into the 26/27 season. At that age with that birthdate a 9/1 cutoff would put them on track for the correct recruiting cycle and not disrupt their 8th grade year. Just one factor among many I would consider. It seems premature to worry about it now, but i understand wanting to integrate yourself with a new club before the chaos that next spring is going to bring. |
I figured we'd get to 1000 after USCS and USYS released their league rules for next year. We're going to get there continuing to debate how to modify the SY system that was just a adopted 3 months ago to make it more fair for all the kids who were held back by their parents - or live in a minority of states. It's cool we're getting to 1000 - and 2000 seems doable now. |
So pathetic! All those Jan birthday kids playing against Nov./Dec. kids should look at themselves in the mirror and call themselves pathetic every morning when they get up, and just before they go to bed! |
Then you have to go with the ECNL platform. |
Only adopted by some leagues + they can still implement +60 if they want to. |
No. Instead they congratulate themselves for being so talented. And the Jan birthdays will still be on the older end in 26/27 - just not quite as talented as they used to be. |
So pathetic all those Aug and July kids should look at themselves in the mirror and call themselves pathetic every morning when they get up, and just before they go to bed. |
I don't want to play against younger players for that reason. My daughter is small and holding her own being a Q4 birthday. I'm trying to avoid a trapped year which is why I want the correct platform. |
So what I'm hearing is... 1. You want to avoid being a trapped player 2. You want your kid to play down against smaller players Newsflash top colleges are going to cherry pick the best players on teams. You can likely still get recruited not being one of the better players. But in this situation your kid likely could have done just as well playing and instrument + getting a band scholorship + having good grades. |
Still no. |
SY plus is for cheaters. |
Not multiple people. Puppeting. |
SY + 60 is for people that want to lobby for this change for the next 10 years. More power to them. |
Yes, wouldn't SY+60, e.g., let July birthdays play down with grade in a district with a 9/1 cutoff? One could argue that this two months isn't a big deal, but it's still a redshirted kid playing down, which is what most people are defining as "cheaters." So it would be "GY with cheaters, just not egregious cheaters." |
