ECNL moving to school year not calendar

General FYI the "parent" pushing for GY is either a private school coach. Or someone running some kind of "gap year" regrade program that encourages players to take an extra year before high school training so they can play down for wins.

If they go with GY I’m holding my kid back and transferring them to wherever your kid goes just so I can watch you cry like a baby all season while your kid rides the bench.

No one is afraid of anything. The issue is somehow a DCOM troll convinced like 20 people that SY+ is actually under consideration. Its not. No one that makes decisions at ECNL or MLSN or GA has heard of this, much less considered this.

Is GY being considered in ECNL? Very likely
Is SY vs BY being evaluated in MLSN and GA? Very likely
Are MLSN academies probably just going to go with whatever MLSN decides? Likely because its easy
Are any decision makers in any if these organizations considering SY+? NO

People do want GY.

But, they dont want the regrades, holdbacks, homeshoolers, efc,16 year old freshman playing/involved.

Get it though your head, cheater.

Yes, you've said that before on this thread and we all know that you're a cheater.

There will be accommodations. Because if theres still trapped players SY doesn't make sense. Leagues just dont want to get into the details because its too much work to explain. (For now)

The big challenge will be keeping the cheaters out that want to play down in SY leagues.

US soccer put out rules for leagues to follow. If you read them leagues can only do GY for tournaments and showcases as long as they are not qualifier tournament.

Of course you will.

This is because you want to cheat to win.

BTW my kid will continue playing up when/If BY changes to SY.

Too much for clubs and parents to handle having two different registration systems. Also distracting for kids as they move forward in their development.

This is stupid.

The grouping everyone wants is called SCHOOl YEAR.

As long as theres nobody trying to play down for wins its fine.

I thought MLSN wanted to stay birth year to streamline all their international matches?

You’re a nut bag. My daughter is a Dec 2011 8th grader so even if I did hold her back (which I wouldn’t) she would still be in her correct grade based on age.

I just like watching your go crazy over something that’s not happening lol

This is because GY as you're describing it allows playing down for wins.

SY+60 or GY-cheaters doesn't allow playing down. Which is why leagues could implement if they wanted to.

The reverse trap? Exactly why we need those GY showcases.

Dec works in SY without needing to do any of the +60.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about? Go read the rules for 26/27. US soccer won’t allow GY for league play or nationals. Only flexibility in the rules would be for showcases.

I know that? I just like messing with the anti GY people. Because it’s not going to happen.

Sigh... People are dumb.

SY+60 is just GY without playing down. Which works for US Soccer because its called SY and has a 9/1 cutoff which is just what they asked for.
Anonymous
US soccer called it birth year (1/1) or seasonal year (8/1, 9/1) when putting out options from the meeting in November. They never referred to it as school year.

Ok we can play the semantics game.

SY+60 has a 9/1 cutoff date which 100% works with US Soccers recommendations.

So many idiots in this thread promoting the plus as something that is actually being considered
