It was interesting the Facebook employees were so upset that one of the executives was at the Kavanagh hearing. I’m pretty sure I saw a second Facebook DC executive that was also at the hearing because his wife was there. I’m pretty sure I saw him in the hallway and somehow he managed to escape getting scrutiny for it.

This “presumption of innocence” is so tired. This was not a trial. This was a job interview.

The presumption of innocence is not JUST for the courts. It is a principle on which our country was founded. It SHOULD permeate our society, but after this story, that is in doubt. Presumption of innocence should be applied in the work place, in journalism, and in life in general.
If you are not presuming innocence, you are presuming guilt. Based on no evidence.

Presumption of innocence does not and has never applied to political appointees. Nor should it. The standard for judges should be "beyond reproach." Because it's a lifetime appointment with a lot of power. But for a burger flipper? Not so big a deal, I'm okay with the confirmed guilty doing that job, as long as the employer has measures in place to prevent a repeat of the crime.
