She's had such a hard life here on earth, physically and emotionally abused by her parents, molested by her brother, raising lots of her little brothers and sisters, and subjected to that absurd religion. It's no wonder she thinks something better must await her, and something worse await others. To make sense of her own life.

It's not much different from how Muslim women are treated, except Muslim women are treated even worse.

No religion advocates living in abusive circumstances.

Correct, if you're a man. For women it's a little different.

Islam does not encourage oppressive or abusive treatment toward women. I'll agree that it is not equal, but no Muslim is allowed to hurt or degrade another person, male or female.

Immediate quoted PP and I in no way meant to single out Muslims as encouraging oppressive or abusive treatment of women. As the Duggars clearly show, Christianity can do that too. Mainstream society should never trust the fundamentalist extremes of any religion.

You're either out of your mind or outrageously uninformed.

The PP said that NO religion advocates living in abusive circumstances, which is clearly false. Look up Scientology's The Hole.

County Sheriff's report obtained by In Touch via FOIA request confirms and sheds more light on many other details in the original police report:
http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/josh-duggar-chilling-molestation-confession-in-new-police-report-59752

Apparently the a Duggar PARENTS could have faced six years in prison as a result of these incidents if they had been discovered before the statute of limitations expired.

I read something the other day that posited that the reason why the Duggars were not as outraged by the molestation as so many other people are is because they lump this behavior with things like premarital sex and masturbation. The problem to them is the "sin" of sex outside of marriage, not that it is abuse. So this is why, to the Duggars. it's all about Josh and forgiveness/Jesus instead of the victims.

Also, it is somewhat common in their community. It's NBD.

Wow. Even more details, and it looks worse and worse.

The fact that the Duggar parents are the ones being interviewed and not Josh just goes to show what a tight hold that cult has on even their adult children. Its sick. C'mon Josh, break away and stand on your own. Tell of the abuse you suffered at the hands of the cult and make your own life! That is the only way to redeem yourself.

That was part of the problem with Roman Catholic Church and its pedophilia scandal, too. The leaders just didn't understand that sex with an altar boy is a very, very, VERY different issue than sex with one of the ladies from the divorced Catholics group.

Josh Duggar has profited from being a Duggar. His entire career has been based on being a Duggar. The Duggar family business protected him from the consequences of being a child molester. He isn't going to turn on them. All that would do is make him even more of an opportunist than he already is.
