Tell Sarah Palin: Violent threats have consequences

Anonymous
"If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun."

Double standard much?

Fuck that!

Sorry but it says right there
"Let us be clear. We do not know why the shooter targeted Rep. Giffords. Sarah Palin did not arm him or pull the trigger. We do not know if the shooter admired, loathed or ignored Sarah Palin. We will eventually know, and that will be a different accounting."

I am not a Palin fan.

Double standard much?

Aaaah, the much poster! Dear much poster, I've seen you all over these boards. A close relative of the "thiser", you like to respond to posts by saying "_____ much?" I don't get the grammar here. Is this a phrase people use? I've never seen it before, but you use it so often I must just be missing something. What does it mean? When you say "Double standard much" does this mean "This is a lot of double standard" or "double standard a lot"? But then why the question mark? Please explain.

People who like Sarah Palin are unapologetic. They mean what they say. People in Sarah Palin's camp aren't stopping to say, wow, we'd better tone it down because look what can happen. It is stupid to believe they care about a petition. They are dangerous.

Not sure if the shooter was motivated by Palin or not but that woman needs to take responsibility for her abhorrent rhetoric. It's atrocious that she 1) thinks its ok to use such hateful terminology and then 2) pretend that she didn't actually mean it.

SURVEYOR'S SYMBOLS? GIVE ME A BREAK!

signing the petition. thank you.

The OP of this thread is a moron.

I didn't vote for Palin, nor would I ever, but really OP? You're an idiot. Seriously stupid.

You know, I want Sarah Palin to apologize for her violent rhetoric and imagery. I deplore it from anyone. She needs to take responsibility for contributing to the inappropriate tenor. Her people are LYING when they say the crosshairs are not from guns.

From her Facebook Page:
Warning: Subject to New Politically Correct Language Police Censorship
by Sarah Palin on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 4:59pm

March Madness battles rage! My family and I join millions of Americans enjoying college basketball’s finest through March Madness. Underdogs always get my vote as we watch intense competition bring out the best in these accomplished teams.

The Final Four is an intense, contested series (kind of like a heated, competitive primary election), so best of luck to all teams, and watch for this principle lived out: the team that wins is the team that wants it more.

To the teams that desire making it this far next year: Gear up! In the battle, set your sights on next season’s targets! From the shot across the bow – the first second’s tip-off – your leaders will be in the enemy’s crosshairs, so you must execute strong defensive tactics. You won’t win only playing defense, so get on offense! The crossfire is intense, so penetrate through enemy territory by bombing through the press, and use your strong weapons – your Big Guns – to drive to the hole. Shoot with accuracy; aim high and remember it takes blood, sweat and tears to win.

Focus on the goal and fight for it. If the gate is closed, go over the fence. If the fence is too high, pole vault in. If that doesn’t work, parachute in. If the other side tries to push back, your attitude should be “go for it.” Get in their faces and argue with them. (Sound familiar?!) Every possession is a battle; you’ll only win the war if you’ve picked your battles wisely. No matter how tough it gets, never retreat, instead RELOAD!

People who use language like that and icons like that are disgusting to me, whether some crackpot takes them seriously or not. I'm getting off this thread before the Sarah Palin supporters get more opportunities to show me how ugly they are.

Probably never a good idea to use violent analogies as a way to get people to vote. I own a gun, and am for gun rights. However this does not define who I am. I don't know why Sarah chose this way of rallying her party, but I am very disappointed in her choice of words. I like her, I certainly would note vote for her as president. This shows me why she could never be in that position. Imagine if she decided to use this tactic with the U.N.? That would be interesting. Although I think this man would have done this horrible crime even if she had not said what she did, it still makes her look very nasty.

Stick up to them, 21:53! All her supporters are doing is chanting the same tired accusations, that the mass media and liberals and other godless citizens are blaming her directly for the actions of a mad man. Well, that's not quite accurate. Sarah Palin's encouraging the lunatic fringe with her rhetoric, and she and all the others like her must stop. It would not be tolerated by students at schools. If the FBI found Middle Eastern men with crosshairs and NAMES on a list, they'd bring them in and charge them with conspiracy to commit terrorist acts.
