Washington Post article about Former Farquhar Administrator

Anonymous
I heard the former PTA president that complained in the article was part of hiring him for Farquhar. Go figure… So what does that say about the vetting process. She obviously liked him back then. They even have a picture together in the Olney gazette. Sounds like a grudge to me.

Teachers are super heros and we don't mind educating the public and talking nonchalantly about the profession mismanagement and abuse that is ubiquitous in districts like mcps.

oh please this will be water under the bridge in a few months and then business as usual. Teachers are replaced quickly.

Oh you're *so* flippantly cool...it'll be awesome when there are no teachers left. Maybe try respecting other professions.

Even if they do, they lack the power that their supervisors possess. There’s not a whole lot they can do. That’s why they vote with their feet. Pair abusive supervisors with a system full of disempowered teachers, and you’re going to get some angry individuals. That’s why it’s best to treat people like professionals in the first instance. If you think someone is out to get you, perhaps you shouldn’t have antagonized and mistreated them.

That wasn't a promotion.

She makes more money now so I'm not sure what else you'd call it.

I would be interested if the investigation looked into this part of the selection process. Our community has grown to suspect that the parent input is a shell game by MCPS.

The director chooses which parents are on the small parent panel. MCPS narrows down the selection pool for parents to interview. Finally, they individually gather input from each parent so there’s no transparency as to the community priorities and whom the panel is actually putting forward as their choice.

MCPS makes a big show stating that they collect input from all stakeholders but the reality may be far from the truth.

The process to fill principal and AP vacancies is very different after June 15. MCPS can unilaterally move admin wherever at that point. Some positions, like “acting AP” are even picked by the acting principal and returning AP. Talk about a big shell game with zero accountability!

Do you have any proof of this or is this just some other made up anecdote?

The PP is correct. She was technically demoted and is continues to supervise Farquhar

I think you're conflating two things. She wasn't in HR.

I think they transferred her to HR with her keeping her then-current salary.

And now she makes even more. It can't be possible that MCPS is paying someone more money to do a lesser job.

Are they not talking about Dr Dawson? Here is her linked in that says in 2021 she was Chief of Finance and operations

https://www.linkedin.com/in/eugenia-jeanie-dawson-4656b685

She is currently listed in MCPS as a director II in the office of school support and well being. http://ww2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/directory/directory_Boxoffice.aspx?processlevel=30615

She is observed Farquhar current and past principals at school. It’s never been explained why or what her role is exactly. I’m assuming she supports principals?

Wasn’t the Paint Branch Principal search that Beidleman was selected from before June 15th?

Some people are talking about her, and yes as a director in OSSWB she is the supervisor of several principals. Other people are talking about the former Damascus principal who is now an "administrator on special assignment" in HR.

Wonder when they actually started inteviewe because the last thing he said to faculty on June 16 was “I’m sorry for this year. I promise I’ll come back ready to do better”. Doesn’t sound like someone interviewing for other jobs
