Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 5

PP is misusing the word “convict” even if it’s in quotes.

In what other industry would BK get the most desirable job, for life.

Well, you know how Trumpkins say that federal employees are terrible. Guess they are right about this one

That would be too political. Roberts could just ask Kav to recuse himself a lot, so it's like he's not there.

I didn’t think Roberts could actually ask them to recuse.

It is upto Kavanaugh to decide whether he should recuse himself from cases. Roberts can’t make him

Yes. I did put it in quotes. He has been “convicted” in the court of public opinion by those of you who “believe her.”
I don’t believe it is appropriate to eliminate a very qualified judge from this position because of false allegations. It is disturbing that so many think that unsubstantiated, uncorroborated allegations should do so.

In fact, the evidence that was presented actually exonerated him.

The one thing this vote shows is that there are still people in this country who believe that in order to “convict” a person of a crime, there needs to be evidence of that crime. There was none.

I guess people were so determined to derail this nominee that they would believe anything.

Which evidence was that?

The statements of those who SHE said were present that stated they had no knowledge of any such party. And, the fact that her best friend said she didn’t know Kavanaugh.
Add to that the fact that she could not remember pretty significant details - like the date, the place, getting to and getting home from the place she couldn’t remember - yet, she was able to remember other “random” details like she drank one beer and remembered running into the street thinking she got away. It makes no sense.

+1 I agree

+1 They simply don't want him and thought it would end with his withdrawal. They're also upset that Trump has been able to nominate 2 SC justices and may get to do another one.

Please tell us about your post-trauma psychology credentials.

And there was plenty of potential corroboration. The FBI wasn’t allowed to talk to dozens of people.

She could have presented this “evidence” at her hearing. She could have submitted the statements, the therapy notes, the polygraph, and everything else she had to the SJC. But, she didn’t.
So, we have no evidence that corroborates her claims.
What we do have is her dear friend/retired FBI agent attempting to sway the testimony of Leland. That is pretty damning.

I’m sure they’ll appreciate a country where a great woman took a brave stand for the presumption of innocence.

Mmmmhmm. Presumption of innocence with a sham investigation. We see you.

We see you, too.

Why are you happy about it? Is owning the libs worth tearing the country apart? If this were a democratic nominee you would've screamed bloody murder and you know it. That's why I am not casting another vote for GOP. The pure hatred of the "others," and forgetting the others are your family, your neighbors, your friends.

PP here. I wasn't trying to mock anyone. I was responding to the other poster's post.

No sorry my daughters have been groped by drunken frat boys and do not appreciate a country that elevates such dickish men to the highest level of power.

False should be in quotes. How do you know? Were you there?

Be consistent.

He is a deeply flawed nominee. You’re acting like there are no other judges out there.

Just speaking our hatred aloud defiles us.

Newt Gingrich popped the air out of that balloon decades ago. And now we have president toilet mouth to thank him for.

Brave woman? More like political pawn. What did McConnell say to her at lunch?

This “presumption of innocence” is so tired. This was not a trial. This was a job interview.

BK couldn’t get a job at Burger King after his performance last Thursday.

No one said they had to vote for him if the FBI report stated their was no cooberation in the narrow investigation. If a senator did not want to give a vote to kavanaugh he didn't have to. No one should have been forced to vote for him.

I’m sure she’ll be celebrating when R v W gets overturned, back home in Maine where she’ll be permanently once she gets voted out.
