Herndon club

The first try out is on April 11, so I would assume April 8 or 9 at the absolute latest. They lose coaches so fast that nothing is gauranteed though.

Really? I would say this trip is financially impossible without Herndon soccer kicking in a hefty contribution.

Yup per the email asking if some players want to scrimmage the boys before their trip next week.

As a mom who’s gone on one of these trips you are describing, Herndon doesn’t pay a single penny into the travel or trip costs. Also Parents are the ones finding these tournaments and I are pitching the idea to NA for support since they need a coach, which he is more than happy to do if it makes the players excited about soccer. The Disney trip was an idea a mom had. The spain trip was an idea moms had after they attended the year before with a different group. Not all of the age groups are into traveling out of VA much less the country so it’s a toss up. Also these moms have to organize, plan and coordinate everything from the fundraising to the logistics of the hotels etc. people use it as a way to do travel and have a family vacation.

If ya’ll want to go somewhere with your group, find a tournament you’re interested in, pitch the idea to the coach and then get support and start fundraising.

NA also happens to be these two teams’ primary coach.

For the girls who went to tryouts last weekend, I’m assuming offers went out? How was the whole Sterling vs Herndon thing handled in your offer?

You seem to know a lot of details about the planning of these trips and seem very sure no money is coming from HYS. How much is the Spain trip costing per player? How many coaches are going? How much are their travel costs and how are those being paid? Were all the scholarship kids on the team excluded?

All of NA's teams have 1-2 paid Herndon assistant coaches as well. Not sure how the fees for 10 u9 kids cover the cost for three paid professional coaches..... None of the other teams have assistants.

How did the third graders fundraise?

We received an email from Sterling that offer letters were going out. We didn't try out, so I'm not sure who got offers. Since numbers are low, pretty much anyone who tried out would get an offer or else they can't have teams, which would impact having ECNL-RL for the boys. So it has potential to be the same awful situation for the girls next year that they have had this year.

Will they even have enough girls to form teams for each age group U13-19? Is that required by ECNL RL in order for the boys to compete there? At what point do they have to show they have teams or risk being kicked out?

Why would Sterling want to help Herndon have ECNL-RL for Herndon's boy teamss? None of this partnership makes sense for Sterling if their girls teams would be better off in NCSL.

Sterling can’t help Herndon on the boys side, they’re already helping WV. They have no identity anymore.

They are helping Herndon by sending their girls teams to RL to be slaughtered.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Who is coaching the teams? Are they Sterling teams or Herndon teams? Are they keeping the same division as this year?

Why is the herndon tryout schedule based on this year's age groups, not next years? We are staying in the same age group (fall birthday) but would go on different days then their chart says. That seems like a basic thing you would want to get accurate.

Same boat here, don't know which try out dc would attend. I guess they have two weeks to realize their mistake and fix it. Very dumb.
