This definitely opens up Baltimore’s middle branch area right off 95 for an NHL arena. I think they would rather have NHL than nba

An NHL team near Camden Yards would be an easier drive for MoCo and PGC residents than the drive to Potomac Yards.

And Maryland already has the infrastructure there, as well as the long standing Maryland Stadium Authority.

If they called it “Chesapeake” like the Chesapeake Blue Crabs or something it could pull in a massive market from Delaware to Baltimore and all of Maryland plus around dc down to Norfolk which woujd relate more to Chesapeake than DC.

Thanks for the laugh.

Now go educate yourself on what constitutes a market. Also go educate yourself on Hampton Roads.

You keep posting this and it is totally disconnected from how television markets and sports business works.

NHL fans have the highest median incomes out of any big 4 sports

Baltimore is a horrible fit for the nhl

OTOH, Baltimore would be an awesome basketball city

Financially it wouldn’t make sense to put the wiz in bmore but imo if the wiz moved to bmore and had a name change, it would shift the culture of the org for the better

The Baltimore Bullets were a thing before they moved to Washington.
And the Baltimore Skipjacks were a very well supported AHL team for decades.

Baltimore City was a different place 40 years ago.

It's funny to read the posts from a few Maryland folks who think they're the center of the DMV universe.

Which is why the Bullets moved to DC and the Skipjacks skipped town.

No way Alexandria can handle this. Alexandria residents have all rightly said they don’t want the franchises moving to their under-resourced and very much ill-prepared city.
I believe them.

Will their elected officials believe them or are they on the take?

I don't recall them saying this.
