People like you are why I left the Catholic Church.

Bless your heart, you never left the Catholic Church. Will pray for you dear.

St James Church in Setauket NY would disagree with you.

Hate the sin but love the sinner. God’s mercy is always there for you.

Roe is trashed. “There is no constitutional right to abortion” is the law of the land. DD

And yet the abortions will continue on.

I’m confident that some babies will be born who otherwise would have been aborted. How many? Only God knows, but it’s more than zero and even one is a beautiful thing—that baby could grow up to be a great leader one day. Every life is precious. Many blessings to you!!

And you know what? Some babies that might have been born will be aborted. If a woman doesn’t feel like she even has time to consider her options because the window in her state is too short or because she needs to get it done in another state before anyone realizes she’s pregnant, she might just have the abortion because she doesn’t have even a couple of extra weeks to think through how she might be able to manage a pregnancy and motherhood.

And what about all of the women who will needlessly die because they don’t have access to safe, legal abortion? Do they not fall into your “love the sinner” umbrella?

Maybe the rape victim would have been a great leader if not for the trauma of her forced birth experience...or many other maybes.

You have as many births as you want and good for you. but you have no effect on the choices of others, try as you may.

No one wants the blessings of someone doing the devil’s work. Pray for your own soul and leave the rest of us alone.

You’re a simpleton.

Not at all. That poster understands the value and worth of life and doesn't view a baby developing within its mother as just a clump of cells.

It’s not a baby before birth. But why do you support exceptions for rape and incest. Aren’t those “innocent lives”? I don’t understand the reasoning you have.

That's some familiar phrasing, right there. Boy, do I have a thread for you. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/30/1066731.page

The laws will ban it nationwide.

The Dems don't have the votes. Will they ever?

My guess is that Dem controlled states will pass laws permitting elective abortion into the third trimester (ie, way beyond Roe), which will be viewed more horrifically than the R bans on abortion, and translate at the federal level into disastrous results.

True 3rd trimester abortions are disastrous, traumatic and risky…. But also very rare. 96% are done before week 16.

The statistic that is sad is the amount of people having had more than one abortion. This indicates that something in their life is not working - their BD, their partner, their relationship, their health, their general living situation or safety.

Absolutely. According to the 2019 MMWR, "79.3% of abortions were performed at ≤9 weeks’ gestation, and nearly all (92.7%) were performed at ≤13 weeks’ gestation (Table 10)."

I am just really worried about the societal impact of having many more children enter the world who are not unconditionally loved/accepted by their parents, and will bear the marks of that trauma for the rest of their lives. Those are the kids who grow up to have personality disorders (e.g. borderline personality disorder and narcissism), end up as drug abusers, commit domestic abuse, end up being mass shooters, etc. Trauma is the common thread and not being accepted by the people who are supposed to love you unconditionally is the highest form of trauma. I have seen it in my own family. I just don’t understand why anyone would want more of that in this world. It affects all of us. You might think you can shield your own child from these ill effects by sending them to private school, living n a good neighborhood, etc. But you can’t. If you go out in public you will be negatively affected by these individuals in some way. If you aren’t actively working to improve the lives of children who were not wanted and whose social/emotional needs aren’t being met, you aren’t pro life.

I had to research whether I could place a Nexplanon in a woman's thigh instead of her upper arm, because the father of her children knew to feel for it in the arm.

She wasn't willing to risk the children under shared custody.

I'm going to have to mute s lot of people on social media. I'm pretty disgusted by all the gay men who are totally skipping over what is happening to women and saying they need to prepare to fight for their gay marriages. Um, hello! Read the room.

God, men are all the same no matter who they have sex with.

Women should boycott Pride BS after this. We show up for men all the time but they don't show up for us.

We now know that Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett LIED under oath. They willfully and deliberately deceived and misled Congress during their SCOTUS nomination hearings. Thus their confirmations were ILLEGITIMATE.

We have 5 ILLEGITIMATE people taking seats on the SCOTUS bench.

We need to hear from Roberts what he intends to do about it.

We need the Senate to begin impeachment hearings. Clinton was impeached for far less.

We need their perjury cases to be referred to DoJ for prosecution.

These 5 people lack the integrity to sit on the SCOTUS bench and must be removed.

They all lied. They all committed perjury. They all gained their seats under false pretenses. They are ILLEGITIMATE and must be removed.

Ugh. Can we get some realistic proposals? I see everyone is still at the denial stage of grief.

No. It needs to be done. Again, Clinton *was* impeached for less.

And, lying to Congress is a crime. United States Code, Title 18, section 1001, and it has been used on Rod Blagojevich, Jeffrey Skilling and many others. There is no legitimate reason why it can't or shouldn't be prosecuted.

If Republicans get upset about it they void and completely destroy their "law and order" cred.

As much as you want it to be true.... NOT ONE of the Justices lied to Congress.

And, if you want to talk about prosecuting lying to Congress.... let's start with Brennan and Clapper.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jul/31/cia-director-john-brennan-lied-senate
https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2016-11-17/lawmakers-resume-calls-for-james-clapper-perjury-charges

Even when faced with clear evidence that these 5 justices lied right to our faces, Republicans will deny it. Republicans can't stop their pathological lying.

There is ZERO evidence anyone lied in their hearing. The Dems cannot see that inspite of the evidence.

True, Gorsuch was telling the truth when he said no good Justice would overturn Roe. We just didn’t realize he was dating he would be a bad Justice.

You are not helping anything right now. You really think gay men who voted Democrat shouldn’t be worried about the future of thy wit own rights when Thomas openly invited conservative groups to bring new challenges to those rights.

Or he could becomena mass shooter.

Just think if Timothy McVeigh’s mother had aborted him, how many actual babies would have grown up.

Meanwhile, what about the babies whose mothers die as a result of this. Why do you discount their lives?
