Gaza War, Part 3

The truth is that Netanyahu and his current right wing government is doing so much harm to Israelis and overall image of Jewish people that I don’t think this can be reversed in the next 50 years. Doesn’t matter which side of the war you are on, Netanyahu and his gang gotta go, read the room people.

No wonder, Israelis are protesting. They can see this idiot has put a target on their backs and he has done everything he can to derail hostage negotiations. I truly feel a lot for people of Israel, Netanyahu is a curse.

+1

National unity in times of crisis is understandable, but given the scope of damage being done by this coalition government, it's baffling that Israelis wouldn't be protesting even more actively. That's not even bothering with the fact that Netanyahu is a corrupt, indicted kleptocrat who should be rotting in an ICC cell.

Meanwhile most people/govts in the world dod support Israel on 10/8, but now after 7 months of killing and starvation are done with Israel.

Israel has lost the support of the world and sure some of that might be due to anti-semitism but the large majority of the reason why most people- people like Joe Biden— are not supporting Israel is they they are perpetrating a humanitarian disaster.

The what aboutism on Russia and China is so weak. Russia is an international pariah too. China is perhaps our leading adversary on the int’l stage, not a country we send billions in aid and weapons to every year.

So what do you want Israel to do to ensure that:

-War stops immediately
-Israel remains safe and secure from threats to its safety and current existence

If any of your solutions involve changing the nature of Israel, you have a motive beyond stopping the killings. You want regime change.

Countries that perpetually grab other peoples land don’t get to live in safety. Retreat to 1967 borders, and then talk. Until then, you’re an occupying power, and those don’t get to live in peace.

Then your side doesn't live in peace either--continually start wars you will be in wars, and the other side will shore up its defenses to protect itself against you, and not give you anything. Rest of the world starts to see a patter of hmm, who is starting a war all of the time then crying "what about our babies!"?

I think what you don’t understand is that it’s not “my side”. I see a people who are being treated really badly, against common human morality, by a country that I thought shared like values. The sarcastic “what about the babies” is hard to read. It’s almost like you don’t think there are babies getting killed. Or mothers starving. Or people being maimed and killed. All of that is real. Whether or not you think those folk deserved it - doesn’t change that many of us don’t.

Ok offer a solution to keep babies alive that maintains status quo for Israel, because that is a solution that can be implemented immediately

Why do you think an ongoing land grab should continue? That’s the status quo, isn’t it?

Then war will continue, because neither side will give in. Insulting Israel to death and being really angry on the internet doesn't work.

Not true. There are ways for the killing to stop now, they are not calling for these ways. They prefer to build a evidence for a public relations trial against Israel so eventually people will want to see it destroyed.

You feel like you need this to be true but it’s not. Most people—including a lot of Israelis— want the hostages returned home and the war to stop.

This offer has been on the table for months but Netanyahu won’t accept it because he can’t have the war end and dace accountability

Accountability meaning apologize for Israel's mere existence? Yeah who would accept that. If you want the fighting to stop, find another solution. You may not get to humble Israel, but you are willing to sacrifice people for this goal? Well that is a choice. This is what is showing that pro-Palestinians do not really care if the killing stops. They have other goals.

Not even accountability for the country — I just meant for Bibi. He is prolonging the war as a means to cling to power. Otherwise he might have to stand trial as previously scheduled for corruption and there will be an inquiry into how 10/7 was allowed to happen— whether his focus on militarizing the West Bank contributed or whether the army ignored warning signs, etc.

10/7 happened because Hamas attacked.

If you think there were no failures on the Israeli side that contributed to Hamas invading Israel on 10/7 then you must be related to Netanyahu.

Literally nobody is arguing that Israeli failures did not contribute to the horrors of 10/7. There will be full investigations into how the Israeli government failed to protect its citizens, some of which have already begun. Bibi will almost certainly lose his position as a result of his tolerance and friendliness to the Palestinian cause in favor of more pro-Israel candidates like Ben-Gvir who will protect Israeli interests and establish strong defensive strategies.

But Israel right now needs to focus on the biggest threat facing them, that being the need to dismantle Hamas and the Islamist extremist organizations (like the UN) who are working towards the complete dissolution of Israel and the genocide of the Jewish people. Once Israel has completed these goals, they can focus on their internal issues.

Is Ben Gvir even eligible to serve as PM? Isn’t he a convicted criminal? Will the U.S. abide by that?

He have one running for President right now.

Ben Gvir is definitely eligible and certainly he’d the best gift for Hamas . He would lead Israel into Beirut and Jordan and Gaza . These are his words

I would protest, too, if I knew my nation had become a pariah and my people had become despised all around the world, due to a genocide being waged by blood-thirsty baby killers and unhinged religious zealots who treat others like dirt because they decided they alone were entitled to a land.

Yeah, that dog won’t hunt because Hamas leadership is not even in Gaza. And that’s known by everyone. That’s why the rest of us know that (1) you and people like you are either uninformed or intentionally lying; and (2) 10/7 is the pretense being exploited by Israel to continue its vicious genocide of the Palestinian people.

Egypt is joining South Africa's ICJ lawsuit against Israel. I suspect there will be a domino effect of other nations joining in.
