Annoucning them with less than 48 hours notice feels like a panicked overcorrection (and gives the ability to shop out offers before girls go elsewhere)

These are only for the older teams and at that age, not very many openings. Again, this is only for players not affiliated with ECNL. Current Revolution and FCV players will likely show up. The club has been having IDs for those players for all age groups already though just like VDA has.

What is the appeal for current Revolution and FCV players? Why would they want to join NVA now?

College placement (because that's where the coaches and club relationships matter way more than the league). There are going to be parents that feel like their players just have to be in ECNL, so they'll leave. That'll open roster spots on the GA team. So many of you all are reacting negatively to this news on the girls side and I can't quite figure out why. If you're not on a top team (national platform) by U14 in this area, you were pretty much shut out. The fate of your DD's soccer career left in the hands of a coach with a preference or the reality that a team that wanted her on that level isn't accessible. We got the addition of SYC and VAR last year to GA. This year it's McLean and rumors of Alexandria. NVA simply switched leagues so that's not an addition. But, there are now MORE places for these girls to find a home and compete at higher levels. Is it going to look great the first year or two, no, but it will get better because they'll have the attention that they're not getting on their RL, EDP, and NCSL teams right now. You all are too shortsighted and selfish for that matter.

But Revolution and FCV are already GA. What is the benefit for them to switch to another GA team?

College placement. NVA has a better record of that. Just because they changed leagues doesn't mean the players magically declined. Since you asked that question that was already answered, I'm going to assume you believe that league affiliation is what gets kids in. It has its pros, but having a coach or director at a club that can pick up the phone and call schools is what gets most kids in. Playing next to a highly sought after prospect also helps.

You will see all the top players currently on NVA ECNL girls teams at VDA and Arlington ECNL IDs. GA is for bots.

I think VDA will be first stop, FVU second, ARL third.

Enjoy those 25 girl rosters.

You know, I’m starting to wonder if current NVA families are scared of competition in GA.

What is one legitimate reason to leave, other than not being told about the GA news?

The colleges are there…Competition is there

Trust, nobody in NVA/Loudoun is scared of anyone. Much less the noisy and copycat neighbor. You’re more likely seeing posts from staffers and paid yes-men from said neighboring org

lwe’ll, you aren’t necessarily winning in ECNL. Again, give a reason why you would leave. Go look at all the top clubs Instagrams in GA and you will see posts where they are thanking 100s of colleges for watching.

They sure cry when they lose. On par with Arlington parents, really.

The whole ga1 for both Loudoun and nva was to throw a bone at the girls side. I’m sure they are scared there will be a mass exodus like FCV but they are trying to sell it so everyone’s happy. Hopefully people see through that and leave

Moving to GA is like getting demoted from the majors to AAA

Hope that VDa commute will be worth it 3-4 times a week especially with the influx of traffic these days lol

Yes, travel soccer is called travel for a reason. Stay with your Rec soccer and relax.

Hope your kids game is better than your comebacks lol.

It's funny how the same people say that NVA/Loudoun suck, are the same people on here hoping/essentially begging that NVA/Loudoun girls come to their ID sessions to make their teams better. If we're SOOOO trash, don't worry about what we have going on.

VDA/Arlington folks causing drama to get NVA kids to join them.

Didn't VDA girls do a clean sweep of NVA girls last time they played?
