Color me skeptical of the claim.

Right. That’s why he chose the fittest/thinnest women for his final two.

A lot of the women --chosen by casting/producers-- were thin for their age: Joan, Kathy, April, Faith, Edith, Sandra, Ellen. They were all roughly the same level of normal/slender body types. The deck was stacked.

NP. Joan was the only woman who had as good/youthful figures as the final 2, and she left of her own accord. The other ladies looked older. He absolutely chose the two with the best figures.

You're over-estimating Theresa's figure. It's badically the same as April. Theresa is not tall and willowy like Joan

She's much tinier than April, bird-like.

I appreciate the level of empathy the audience is showing toward Leslie. She's such a sensitive soul. She can do better than Gerry!!

But he is not starting out, building a life from act,

He needs someone who will fit into a fully formed life.

Good point. I just don't see that fizzy in-love dynamic with Theresa. I get she's the more practical choice, of course, and she is very likable.

Interesting that some see Leslie as full of fun and others see her as sad.

ONG, this is painful to watch.
But I think it is kind that he did not lead her on until the last minute (probably much to the producer’s chagrin). More respectful to Theresa also. (A few hours at least of loyalty. And he does not have to watch Leslie be shocked.)

Was he crying because he hated hurting her or because he was shutting that door? We will never know…

Oh brother
She is history
I would not bet n on him with anybody based on his girlfriend’s experience.
He will like Theresa’s money
Sad
Run Theresa run
She will get nothing out of this except caregiving or widow

He looked much older in those times of stress.

Both things can be true. I see both of these things.

Leslie: "I love you very very much."

Gerry: "That's such a special sentiment."

Uh-oh....not the response Leslie expected

Not convinced

He was leading her in the final night

She knew things had shifted and was crying and asked If there was anything he wanted to tell her and he said no. He kept stringing her along to the end. He only came back because she knew things had changed.

To his credit he came back to talk and tell her the truth. However he did string her along ti as long as he could.

His emotions just don't ring true to me. There's something about him that does not seem authentic to me. His feelings turn on a dime. He's such a jerk.

Good for her for calling him on it. He really doesn't even care.
Anonymous
He jerked her around so hard. But she should have been on guard after he did the same thing to Faith.

Why are Susan and April laughing, wtf?
Anonymous
It's not Gerry, Leslie just wanted to be chosen. It's a trigger for her. She'll be fine. Gerry's a bore, and not trustworthy.

He’s so fake

Yup. I'm more convinced than ever that he's just a performer. He seemed done with Theresa until it was clear she was wealthy and successful. Complete BS.
