Not true. There are ways for the killing to stop now, they are not calling for these ways. They prefer to build a evidence for a public relations trial against Israel so eventually people will want to see it destroyed.

You feel like you need this to be true but it’s not. Most people—including a lot of Israelis— want the hostages returned home and the war to stop.

This offer has been on the table for months but Netanyahu won’t accept it because he can’t have the war end and dace accountability

What do Palestinians there and abroad want and believe? That is what matters. They want Israel to to stop, mourn its dead, and realize that it caused the trouble that it is in now.

The idea that the extremists are calling for the dissolution of Israel doesn’t even register. It’s just ridiculous on face value.

Ok, tell all of Hamas to turn itself it, then the killing will stop. But that is not what you want, that will not seem fair to you.

No the killing will continue. Israel would kill any one who surrenders. There are already mass graves in Gaza. This is about terrorizing a civilian population. Israel is a terrorists state.

Accountability meaning apologize for Israel's mere existence? Yeah who would accept that. If you want the fighting to stop, find another solution. You may not get to humble Israel, but you are willing to sacrifice people for this goal? Well that is a choice. This is what is showing that pro-Palestinians do not really care if the killing stops. They have other goals.

Well just continue the war against it and stop complaining if you think it needs to be neutralized.

There was an interesting article in the NYT today that basically said most Israelis feel like it is 10/8 and don’t understand why they aren’t getting more int’l support.

Meanwhile most people/govts in the world dod support Israel on 10/8, but now after 7 months of killing and starvation are done with Israel.

Israel has lost the support of the world and sure some of that might be due to anti-semitism but the large majority of the reason why most people- people like Joe Biden— are not supporting Israel is they they are perpetrating a humanitarian disaster.

The what aboutism on Russia and China is so weak. Russia is an international pariah too. China is perhaps our leading adversary on the int’l stage, not a country we send billions in aid and weapons to every year.

After 10/7, I think reasonably, most people don’t really care what Palestinians want and believe.

And no, Israel did not cause any of this, they are defending themselves against attempted genocide carried out by Hamas and Palestinians.

Not even accountability for the country — I just meant for Bibi. He is prolonging the war as a means to cling to power. Otherwise he might have to stand trial as previously scheduled for corruption and there will be an inquiry into how 10/7 was allowed to happen— whether his focus on militarizing the West Bank contributed or whether the army ignored warning signs, etc.

So what do you want Israel to do to ensure that:

-War stops immediately
-Israel remains safe and secure from threats to its safety and current existence

If any of your solutions involve changing the nature of Israel, you have an motive beyond stopping the killings. You want regime change.

10/7 happened because Hamas attacked.

yes, that is my point, we have to examine the true motives behind cries for "ceasefire" and "what about the babies!". Palestinians want Israel to go away.

Or … based on past behavior, they don’t believe the propagandized claims that Israel would relent if the hostages were all magically released, or Hamas all magically surrendered, etc. You expect others to believe that the IDF would sprint for the exits, the constant drone flyovers would immediately cease, and Israel would literally stop its atrocities if those events were to occur today.

The problem with that breathtakingly ridiculous assertion is that many just don’t believe Israeli propaganda - because they have been shown time and time again in the past that Netanyahu is incapable of operating truthfully or with any integrity whatsoever.

So there’s no way for the Palestinian men, women and children to stop the killing right now. And there’s also no way for Hamas to stop the killing right now.

But at least you dropped your mask for a moment in the post I’m responding to. You’ve accidentally played your “the killings will stop when morale improves” trump card and everyone can see clearly now that you are indifferent to the killings of people, as long as they are not your people. Where I’m from (America), we call that unmitigated evil.

Countries that perpetually grab other peoples land don’t get to live in safety. Retreat to 1967 borders, and then talk. Until then, you’re an occupying power, and those don’t get to live in peace.

Then your side doesn't live in peace either--continually start wars you will be in wars, and the other side will shore up its defenses to protect itself against you, and not give you anything. Rest of the world starts to see a patter of hmm, who is starting a war all of the time then crying "what about our babies!"?

If you think the side you are up against is evil incarnate, you are seeking their anilation. They know you have this opinion of them, so this is why they fight they way to they do.
