Who, of the presidential contenders, would do better for the Palestinians?

“(The beatings) were not done to gather intelligence. They were done out of revenge,” said another whistleblower. “It was punishment for what they (the Palestinians) did on October 7 and punishment for behavior in the camp.”

This is extremely disturbing. We cannot consider Israel to be "an ally" when it behaves like a banana republic.

Fully agree. Israel is off the rails and beyond any comprehensible moral compass.

The “chosen ones” propaganda has completely distorted their perception of reality and basic human rights and the USA needs to cut ties immediately

I'm glad I don't know any of you in real life. Cut ties? Really?

Are you going to say “it’s unfortunate but this happens in a war”? I mean, what’s the pushback from the US and all civilized people supposed to be in your view? If the whistleblower accounts are validated, this is absolutely the type of behavior we should “cut ties” over if not addressed. And immediately.

Pragmatically, how would "cutting ties" help? Maintaining relations allows us to talk to Israel and encourage/discourage behavior, as we are currently doing (if you are paying attention to current events rather than relying entirely upon DCUM or X for your news).

For months, protecters have been asking the president to stop sending arms that are used against civilians. He is finally doing so. It’s the right thing to do. Give him credit for making this admission and for changing his policy ever so slightly. It’s a big deal.

What is a terrorist? From the dictionary = person who uses violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

I cannot see any other word for what Israel is inflicting now in Gaza other than terrorism.

Words have meaning. The word you are looking for is war. Israel is inflicting war on Gaza.

So killing in war is ok but killing in terrorism is not? In my moral compass a death = a death. It really doesn’t matter who pulled the trigger.

A. Man stabs another man during a bar fight

B. Man kidnaps another man for ransom and chains him to a wall in his basement, tortures him on video to send to his family, and finally murders him after a month when the family can't pay

Both are murders. Death is death, right? Wrong! These murders have different names and vastly different sentencing guidelines.

Wars are between armies. There is a war in Ukraine. In Gaza there is a holocaust.

It's ironic, isn't it? We supported Israel because it gave a homeland to victims of the Nazis. Now Israel is using our protection and our arms to exterminate the Palestinians. It defies belief.

No, Israel legitimized the right of Jews to return to and live in their ancestral homeland.
Victims of the Nazis were the ancestors of Jews expelled from what is now Israel. In the years leading up to the Holocaust, Europeans told Jews to "go home".

Talking to Israel and encouraging and discouraging behavior has not brought about enough effective change thus far.

All the warnings, the finger wagging, the private discussions behind closed doors, and what has changed? Israel is carrying out this war in an extremely heinous way.

There needs to be some teeth behind the many talks we have had with Israel. If there are no real repercussions to their actions, why would they change?

Israel has already invaded Rafah. Israel is already bombing Rafah. Israel already has all the weapons necessary to conduct any operation it wants on Rafah.

Biden’s policy has always been to provide political cover, diversion and time so Israel can conduct its holocaust. His policy continues.

No. There is no ancestral homeland. This is pure fantasy. Just like Israel is an ally of the US.

Several US presidents have withheld weapons to Israel at different points. Obama tried and Israel went behind his back.

From 2014.

"After that, US-Israeli relations quietly collapsed. The next three paragraphs from the Journal's story are astonishing — particularly the part where Netanyahu commanded that Obama was "not to ever second-guess me again" about the Gaza war..."

If you don't think this is a problem....

I am with Biden on this.

We can stand iron-clad to support Israel and Israel's right to exist.
We can stand iron-clad in Israel's defense against threats from iran and potentially others
We can stand with Israel as it tries to free hostages and take out Hamas's operational ability.

In my opinion, since December, Israel has acted with impunity and went well beyond "retribution" and had no operational strategy against Hamas.

I get that some may consider this "abandoning" our alley, or liken this to withholding arms to Ukraine. I wholly disagree with those notions. We stand with israel, but not the current leadership. We are arming Israel in its defense, but not in its wanton destruction of millions of human lives.

So in your world when Israel attacks Iran again we should stand by them? No we should not. We should have let Iran bomb the sh#t out of them. The Israelis only understand violence and death.

The last time Israel bombed Iran, it was in response to an Iranian attack. If Iran doesn't attack again, Israel won't retaliate.

If Hamas had returned the hostages, the opportunity for the current campaign to end would increase. But Hamas continues to hold the hostages.

Where do you get your propaganda from? Israeli news?

Hypothetical question:
Let's say Biden completely withdraws financial and political support for Israel, makes a firm statement against Israel and says that from this day forward, Israel cannot depend on the United States as an ally.
Would you be happy with that?
Would you then treat this conflict the way you would all the other wars/genocides going on in the world right now, ie. not really care?

Okay, so all the Jews who were told to get out of Germany, France, Russia, Poland, and dozens of other countries, because the people native to those countries believed that Jews were from somewhere else and did not belong there....where did those Jews come from?

I feel torn to pieces now. I cannot support a nation whose citizens feel it's OK to starve tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian citizens because a crazy bunch of Palestinian terrorists slaughtered 1200 Israelis!! The Israelis don't want to give the Palestinians FOOD!!
Stop ALL arms shipments to Israel!!! NOW. NO MORE ARMS FOR ISRAEL UNTIL ISRAEL STOPS STARVING PALESTINIANS!!!
This is all I can take, and I love Israel and will support it forever, but I cannot support what its government and some of its citizens are doing to poor Palestinian civilians who had nothing to do with the massacre on Oct. 7. This is shameful. The US can have no part in this.

Israeli citizens have been blocking aid for months. I'm surprised you are hearing of it now.
