Personally I'm expecting a Friday afternoon news drop- say 4:45 today, if at all.

No way they'll have had a chance to comb thru that investigation and put out a statement today. They'll punt till next week. Plus, the news on the B-CC kids being charged just broke. No need to make two news cycles in one weekend.

LOL Well....I guess it's nice that they confirmed the problem that the Washington Post already surfaced?

I mean, that is the whole point of the investigation.

No. The point of the investigation wasn't to confirm that there are problems with MCPS's vetting process. Again, we already knew that from the Post.

It was to unearth who knew what, when and why it happened. This letter doesn't even attempt to shed light on that. It just literally corroborates and confirms what the Post reported, which is that someone who did bad things somehow slipped under the radar under the noses of the BOE and was rewarded despite his bad behavior.

We don't need an investigation for the WHAT. We're looking for the WHY and the HOW.

So you expected them to tweet out a statement containing that level of detail? That seems absurd.

DP. They released a letter. That’s where the detail should have been.

No, the detail, if any, would be in the report itself. The letter was clearly just meant to announce that they got the report.

Which they didn't release. If they're being transparent, they either release the report immediately or tell the community immediately who was culpable.

If MCPS wished to seem like they are transparent, they would have immediately released the report. Their tactic is to stall much like they did when the contract with Jackson Lewis was requested by the Parent Coalition.

Because they need time to manipulate the report to make sure no one (especially themselves) can be blamed?

If the report identifies people who will face disciplinary action or termination, that isn't going to just be released to the public.

MCPS said that they would be transparent. How is withholding the Jackson Lewis report that identifies the MCPS staff responsible being transparent?

MCPS and the Board of Education are ridiculously out of touch with the optics of the September 8th announcement. Even the timing of the announcement was designed to eliminate any opportunity for questions that the public may have for them.

Do you not understand that there is some information which board members are privy to which is not shared with the general public? That this has always been the case, and will continue to be?

Do you not understand the selective nature MCPS and the Board chooses what to release and what to cover up is the very reason they have lost the public trust? They said that they would be transparent and people would be accountable. MCPS and the Board are already back peddling that promise.

So you think it’s ok that 18 people complained about his sexual harassment and bullying but he still was promoted by MCPS and the Board? Obviously the reported conduct points to a lack of respect and professionalism on his part. It’s irrelevant that he has children.

Who cares at this point if any report results are made public. You might as well put him up on display for the highest bidder….
