| Everyone seemed to think she was a great grandmother before this happened... I mean, she's obviously not, but she had to just snap.... I am really curious to hear more about this... makes me sick... Hugged my two year old extra hard, and am extra thankful. |

| I didn't read the link but I read the article in the post. She allegedly did it. I'm guessing their were witneses, but lets not demonize the woman before we hear the entire story. It makes me sick to think anyone could actually do such a thing, but maybe she didn't. Maybe the child was crying and she went to pick the child up and had some very strange slip that made her fall toward the railing and drop the child - so that it would look like she threw the child. Maybe she is on medication that literally made her go insane. Or maybe she is a crazy monster - but I'm not ready to get the torches and pitchforks yet. |

| What a bizarre (and tragic situation). She was walking across with other family members and just scooped the child up and threw her over? That seems more like a psychotic moment, to do that in front of the family. Especially as it seems she was a very involved grandma. I guess it is possible she is psychopathic with an antisocial personality that kept it all hidden until this moment. Then again psychosis and mental illness to this degree would also be hard to hide. So sad. So hard to understand. |

Ugh....the lady did it and is a monster. No excuses can be made. Have you been on those walkways? Its close to impossible to" slip" and have a baby just fly on the air six stories to the roadway/asphalt below. The monster did it on purpose....wonder if she is a legal citizen too? I am ready for the torch and pickforks and deportarion papers if it applies. Sick. |

The WP story was full of comments/questions about the woman's immigration status, too. Simple-minded assholes, who think that hispanic = illegal/ criminal capable of anything. Shame on you.

I too, would love to know her explanation as to what happened. I have a 22 month old who hurtles himself downwards head first when he wants to get down from my arms. Knowing that, I always keep a tight grip on him but the first few times he did it I nearly dropped the little bugger!  I really want to believe it was a tragic accident rather that the child was murdered by her own grandmother.
