GFR Falling apart?

Many of the coaches and players leaving are doing so for reasons unrelated to ML. The club admin abruptly leaving, to my knowledge, had nothing to do with ML. It’s been chaos, with and without ML. Maybe the new ED will get things fixed, but it’s probably too little, too late for those with HS aged kids that have had to deal with this s-show.

Fair but ML could have done more to help GFR instead of the weird attempted takeover after only being on the BoD for 6 months. Dude couldn’t even be bothered with reading the bylaws or getting the whole board on the same page to try to make changes and just tried to go rogue and start firing people like he was trump. It’s definitely not too late for this club overall but the real damage was absolutely because of ML not trying to work with people

What month/year did he join?

So in a years time this guy dug up a bunch of alleged crimes being committed by RS, attempted to fire him without success, so then tried to sue GFR but failed and now is starting a competing club and people are actually going to go play for it? Ohhh NOVA soccer parents. You truly have no brains.

Plus, in the two weeks he was in charge, brought in HM to manage things and coach 5 teams (HM!!!), screwed up the offers (3rd team kids getting 1st team offers and vice versa), fired 10 or so coaches 2 days before the spring season was to start, sent out bunches of contradictory comms, etc. Yes, put your trust in him. It will work out great.

Acrimony and jealously between coaches in a club is the norm in this area. Once you understand that, a lot of things make much more sense.

This is true in my experience - it is the main reason coaches leave a club.

The loudest complainers are all ML-aligned, don't fool yourself.

They are really the only complainers from what I can see/tell.

Coaches will go where they are paid more. It's not rocket science. Coaches don't care if they're coaching Susie or Jessica, they will go where the money is just like 99% of people in the real world, they want as much money as they can make to do the same or less work.

You really think they care about coaching for GFR, Herndon, Reston, Sterling or Loudoun? It's all about $$$

I know it is the norm, but it is on another level with what I’ve seen and heard at GFR.

That is due to a few specific coaches that are still from the RP hiring days, honestly. GD is the biggest issue - he can not stand to have someone with a decade less experience than him telling him what to do but he's not a director and should respect those who are.

This is true. He regularly trashes the TD and ED.

Well, the (outgoing) ED runs his mouth more than anyone in the club so hard to get anyone's respect when you're the cause of the gossip train and lack of professionalism

what is TF contract this year?

No more TF contract. All of the coaches are GFR employees now. Exactly as it was planned by MN and RS when they made the agreement for GFR to absorb DMV’s coaches, players and technical staff. It was honestly a great move for everyone involved and the benefit to GFR will be felt for years to come
