For real? these girls must get all of their off-season training elsewhere. or do they pay extra for healthy baller? how many practices in the fall? 6-8-12? I assume 12 in the summer (2X6 weeks).

So when the best player goes to a different team .... what happens to the girls who stayed at M&D DC?
Is that what happened to Capital the last couple of years?

They seem to be doing well based on their record. Maybe they get more reps too?
Apologies, I guess my question was unclear. The last 2 years of Capital teams, the '27s and '28s. Has it been a key injury to their top player, or has that player(s) gone to a different team, causing both teams to drop like a stone in the rankings and now be playing in third tier brackets? Please keep it anonymous, if you can.

Injuries to top players hurt them, but more so the equal playing time. If they played the top 12 with a few extra middies rotating in, the records would be much better. Capital would rather see the whole team get recruited to decent schools rather than the top third to top schools. Quantity over quality. Great if you're at the bottom, not as much if towards the top.

If you’re at the top you’re gonna go high regardless given the exposure of the Capital brand.
In the years where the team is a top 5, 10 or even 15 team, yes.

Cap 27s have a number of injuries that have impacted performance. 28s are an off year across the board (lots of discussion about this) and the talent disparity among top 25 teams isn’t as defining as past classes. Cap’s first year teams don’t have the same chemistry as other teams but always improve in year 2, which will happen this year
for the 28s. They will be in the recruiting pipeline mix for the same schools as past Cap classes.
That's a whole lot of excuses to use up on one post.
All teams have injuries plural. A result of all the play they're doing.
Capital had a 7th ranked Pride team to pick off and supplement with a decent Stars team. They've managed to get worse with every re-rank in the fall, now dropping into the 20's. That's... not good? Top 25 is sure a convenient cutoff here, don't think I've ever heard that one before. But as you've evaluated 100's of teams and thousands of players the last several years, what will continue to happen is they wkll be relegated to third or worse brackets unless they get going.

There were also up to a dozen? Cap candidates that said nah from the DMV area and landed on top teams in Maryland. 7th ranked feeder team, others and a dozen other girls. Seems like there were plenty in that class, they're either just not on Capital for reasons or have regressed under Cap if they are.

They (and the 27s) will now have to battle on outer fields, probably need to find an offense, to have even a shot at moving up next year and having the recruiting pipeline even know who they are. And for the 27's it's probably too late. Unlike your proclamation that they always improve in year 2, they continue to drop like a stone.

So no. The 28s won't be in the same pipeline as top 5 and 10+ teams unless things turn around. And quickly.

Top 25 is how all D1 leagues are ranked, lacrosse and beyond. But we should use the one you dreamed up in that big melon of yours lol
I've heard top 20, top 10, etc regarding tiering these club teams. Never 25 before. And there isn't a poll here. This is actual stats and results. Just be prepared to modify it soon. Melon. Your childish insults are fumny. And instructive.

Well you’re new to this sport if you’ve never heard of top 25 lax rankings. There’s IWLCA’s weekly top 25 in-season D1 rankings. Inside Lacrosse has it. There’s also a league called NCAA D1 college football which has the AP Top 25, not sure of you’ve heard of it? You’re the only one I’ve ever heard say club lax relevance stops at 20. What brings me more joy is knowing you’ve been checking this thread every 30 minutes since my PP to see if I’ve responded to you while I’ve been outside enjoying this wonderful weather! Loving it!!
Lord, I'm so glad I'm not your neighbor.
On here. The only place Capital is discussed other than BOC.
Never nowhere has it been top 25.
The only bringing in a false equivalency is you. D1 football or lacrosse rankings are not similar in any respect, and again in context... it's a new one on this site.
Watched the quarters. Break, now have 1/3 of the honeydo left. Try not to ruin anyone's great day out there with your dou***ness.
But great distraction.

“Never nowhere” … ooof. If there was a top 25 list of grammar mistakes, you’d make it.

Keep arguing club lax doesn’t follow a ranking system EVERY other sport on the planet follows. It’s workin’ for you.

Can you please go back to writing five-paragraph responses? Easier to ignore you this way. Thanks!

Hey, the excuse making, living his best life outside of DCUM guy is back, now signed up as the grammar police on a message board!!! What fun!!!

You sure Cap wants you running around giving excuses about their program? Wait 'til next year, right? Get your top 30 or 35 dispersion charts ready!

edit: apologies in advance for shortening until with the colloquial 'til.

Rankings don't matter! (or it only matters when your team is doing well) Have you not heard anything the Capital cult has been pushing?

When you get to high school I really think playing a club sport is for those that would like to play in college. Play in high school and have that experience but travelling all over without a goal to move on to the next level seems like waste of time and resources.

Why would you sacrifice every summer if your daughter doesn’t want to be recruited? If she knows that in 9th grade don’t waste your time or money. You will easily spend $10k per year and give up half your summer. You’re also taking a spot away from sos pendant to be recruited

Has anyone heard back from the American Select tryouts last night?

You mean, “did you call AS like I did last night so I could influence the roster and play off others injuries? Iicckkk. Roster stalking much? It is like you’ve been learning pathetic parental play from earlier years. Relax and choose better sleep.

This is a crazy reaction. I’m guessing the PP was asking if anyone has heard back from the Maryland tryouts that happened yesterday. Since they don’t send rejection letters people often ask if anyone has received good news so they know if they should keep looking for an email. The VA emails went out a little more than 48 hours after. Best of luck to your daughter!

It absolutely would be worth it, especially as your daughter sounds like she might just want to improve and enjoy the game for what it is.
Capital largely has experienced coaches and that and the intrateam competition at practice should allow that development.
4 summer tournaments, 2 out of the area in New Jersey.

And has been mentioned, not an overbearing number of practices and the equal playing time insures she'll be able to get plenty of game time experience as well against good teams. Save the tryout dates, and maybe get on their radar with Healthy Baller.

Healthy Baller is great! Spend a ton of money at weekly workouts first and then get rejected for AS and CLC.

A ton of money is relative, not everybody's situation is the same.
And of course, AS and CLC have to fill in their spots but not every DD can make it. Again, not everyone's situation is the same.

HB won't guarantee acceptance anywhere but it will deliver results if the player is serious about her training. My daughter's D1 coach told me directly she wished every city had a College Prep course like the one run by HB in the summer. She said the players who do it are noticeably stronger and in better game-ready shape when they return to campus compared to those who don't. The DMV's best D1 athletes aren't there at 6am weekdays for the fun of it.
