Changes were not minor. Yes, the CIA did agree with the draft. Egypt and US were pushing a deal Israel did not agree to at all. It's a deceptive mediation tactic and it ended up not working for that reason.

What are you basing your assertion on that the changes were not minor? I'm asking sincerely here.

Permanent ceasefire v. temporary ceasefire, 33 bodies possible instead of at least some live hostages.

Why would Hamas ever agree with a temporary ceasefire? What does that possibly get them? All it does it provide Israel with a negotiated way to resume attacks.

There is no peace to be had as long as Hamas is in power. That's it. It's that simple. There is no country on Earth that is going to accept a fanatical regime like Hamas as their neighbor, one who just invaded and butchered and injured thousands of innocent people in cold blood - kids at a music festival, farmers, murdering parents in front of their children. Could you even imagine the American response to such atrocities? It would be armageddon.

Whether there's a temporary ceasefire or not is irrelevant in the big scheme of things. Either Hamas steps down from power - not going to happen - or they die. Until then, unfortunately, the war will continue.

lol it worked so beautifully in Afghanistan, right?

Thousands of innocent people? Aren't you exaggerating just a bit?

Yes, I hear of Arab solidarity of victimhood with the poor Palestinians. That's about it. No one wants to help them. Only share in their victimhood.

Who is providing aid to the poor Palestinians? Mostly non-Arab countries.

What on earth are you talking about? Did you watch the video? Also not sure why you are conflating the Arab people with Arab governments. Nothing in the video talks about Arab countries.

I have seen many Arab people saying they feel brotherhood and sisterhood with the Palestinian victims.

The video is a Palestinian and a Hamas supporter but he seems to have missed the point. Hamas wants this. They are getting lots of victimhood as a result of their attack, just what they want.

I don’t care who the video is by. My point is that I agree with every word in this video.

This is the proposal Israel rejected.

Today, Biden made two things very clear.

One, the individuals questioning or criticizing his depth of subservience to Israel are abject liars.

Two, this 2024 election is now Trump's to lose. Defiant to the bitter end, Biden threw in the towel on any hope of winning the 18 - 49 demographic with that speech.

Half the pro-Palestinian students protesting at universities are international students. They won't be voting for Biden or Trump.

For the people extolling Israel as a capital of tolerance because "it has Arab citizens:" a new monthly Zeteo column by a Palestinian citizen of Israel:

"People often ask what it is like to be a Palestinian living in Israel. Here’s what it’s like: We are the remnants and reminders of the 1948 Nakba, people whose nation was destroyed, communities razed, and whose families remain scattered around the world to make way for Jewish immigrants to take over our country and homes. We are the “enemy from within” for whom laws are enacted to enshrine our subservient status while at the same time being told we should be grateful for being “allowed” to live in our homeland.

As Palestinians in Israel, we must maneuver a system of Jewish supremacy and open racism every day, while living with the very people who perpetrated the Nakba or support it. Israeli politicians have made it clear that we are only here because David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister and who spearheaded the Nakba, did not, they say, “finish the job” in 1948, referring to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. "

False, and I note your source is Al Jazeera, which serves Qatar. What happened was Hamas agreed to a counter-proposal they themselves proposed that allowed them to substitute the bodies of hostages for living hostages.

If you think the population alienated by that speech = the people protesting, you are so lost, I wouldn't even have the time to produce a map for you.

This speech today shows Biden’s true allegiance. It is to a totalitarian state that is in servitude to Israel. He just does no see Muslim as human.

What is your source? Seems like you are just making stuff up. Lucy moved the football again. The only language Israelis understands is death and destruction. When they kill all the Palestinians they will find another enemy.

DP. Al Jazeera, who Israel just kicked out of their country? They may be biased but they're ethical journalists. They report, reasonably accurately.

For him and his team it’s at best an admission of poor judgement and personal failure over DECADES and at worst a sign of a puppet leader in a puppet state. Either way, this will only get worse for Americans.

Israeli accusations are typically an admission of their own conduct.

By the way, the White House published and DELETED a tweet celebrating the ceasefire deal.

The level of cognitive dissonance. How are you talking about butchering in cold blood when you have IDF killing children daily?
