straightened hair; Range Rover; slightly too much make-up at times; rock and republic jeans; long sleeve tshirts; puffer coat or vest; Gucci bag; nails done; nanny but also a SAHM. Did not attend a top university, unlikely graduate degree. Husband in commerical real estate or some such work. Fairly catty, not particularly well educated in the world around her. Guesses? Other stereotypes (and they are just that, of course not all residents are the same) to add to the mix?

| glad you're perfect |

Not perfect, just seeing a lot of the same type of person. I have lived all over the DC area and I could feed you the stereotypes of certain pockets of NW DC, Arlington, McLean, Cap Hill, and Maryland suburbs.
I will wait for other responses to say what stereotype I was describing. |
| I see this in a lot of spots around here though education background varies considerably. Lots of Ivy SAHMs with nannies. |
OMG you are seriously so right. I am laughing to myself. One of my first jobs was at an independent school in Summit and when I read this post my mind immediately zoomed into morning drop-off and trying to avoid being hit by yet another Escalade. |

Potomac!!!!
I could name 10 women off the top of my head that fit that exact description, including the DH's profession. And they all live in Potomac...and no, they are not all Jewish! |
| OP here. The stereotype I was describing is in a certain pocket of Potomac. |
Bingo. It's amazing, isn't it? |
| I live in Potomac, and I have to say I see these women all the time and I find them annoying. They seem completely unaware of the world, are not well-educated, but of course they want their kids to go to the top prep schools. Their husbands are sometimes better educated or more interesting, but not always. A lot of money but not a lot of class. |
| I live in NJ, although not Franklin Lakes, and you just described my life. I am moving, no kidding, and this is part of it. I wish I could come back to DC, but that's not in the cards. |
Ok, so to add a new stain, NW DC has some ivy, SAHM with nanny types. They wear barbour, jeans, driving loafers and a good bag. There hair is blonde in a bob or long bob but not too blonde. Make up is minimal. |
| sorry for typos. Meant "strain" not "stain" and "their" not "there" |
| Slightly too big diamond, not understated. To add to the Potomac mom stereotype. Look slightly "ridden and put away wet" as a former colleague would say rather grotesquely, but fits for horse country. |
"Rode hard and put up wet." If you're going to use it, use it correctly. |
