Looks to me more like DCUM America haters are freaked out bc the US isn’t losing a war.

And FWIW, I’m opposed to this action. But since it’s a fait accompli, I’m sure as hell hoping it succeeds.

You and the “Death to America” crowd apparently feel otherwise.

It ahs been barely 24 hours. There is no winning or losing at this juncture.

Of course there is, unless one is being absurdly pedantic.

Decapitating the regime (confirmed) and substantially degrading their force projection and defensive capabilities (apparently) = winning.

Doesn’t mean that it’s “over”, but it is winning.

DP. Where did you hear or read that the regime has been decapitated and that it has been confirmed? That’s not what I’ve been reading and I read a broad range of sources.

NY Times, BBC, Guardian, WaPo, Economist, etc.

Suggest expanding your reading list.

I read those and more. Do you have any specific cites?

Sure you do.

Follow this link for a chart from the NYT:

And? So? The confirmed death of the ayatollah and some high ranking officials does not mean that the existing governmental structure won’t continue after it is reconstituted. They have a constitution and a succession plan. The second paragraph in your link says:

“It is unclear which of the Ayatollah’s possible successors might rise. Ali Larijani, Iran’s top national security official, said that the president, the head of the judiciary and a member of the Council of Guardians, a powerful group of jurists, would temporarily govern until a new leader was chosen.”

The ayatollah will be replaced and so will the roles of the people who were killed. Trump himself said he is fine with an outcome that looks like Venezuela—head guy is gone but governing structure remains intact. Did you think the US was actually going to execute a complete regime change?

Check out the definition of decapitated, then lmk if you think this merits further pedantic dillholery.

The head has been cut off, but the body (especially the backbone of the IRGC) is still functioning for now. Ditto the Venezuelan government.

It’s all about the IRGC.

Trump said he wants to cut a deal with the IRGC. You know Iran is an important allies of Russia and must get those Russian drones back in to product.

Exactly.

“Reuters reported earlier that Central Intelligence Agency assessments presented to the White House in the weeks before the Iran attack concluded that if Khamenei was killed, he could be replaced by hard-line figures from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps or equally hard-line clerics, two sources said.

One U.S. official with knowledge of internal White House deliberations said IRGC officials are unlikely to voluntarily capitulate in part because they have benefited from a vast patronage network designed to maintain internal loyalty.”

Anonymous wrote:Big party at War-Lago this weekend! After dancing to God Bless the USA, Trump was busy commanding the Epic Fury operation, and wooing his $1,000,000-per-person super PAC donors.

They moved on to celebrating the deaths of ~165 elementary school girls plus 96 injured in Minab, Iran.

Israel's military said it was "not aware" of any IDF operations in the area.

No glasses were raised for the 3 dead service members or 5 others seriously injured. Trump said, “there will be more. That’s the way it goes.” Guess that was his toast for those suckers and losers.

Breaking news: Some Iranian official just said “no negotiations”.

Stay tuned, maybe.

Without a ground invasion this will just drag on for a week few. The hardliners will consolidate power and continue on.

Where is Trump. Why is he is hiding from the American people? He seems overwhelmed.

WTF is wrong with you? What Dem has praised Iranian suppression of women and gays? Cite specifics.

What threads on this forum have numerous posts denouncing it?

That’s like asking what threads here have the Maga’s come out against pedophilia.

What are you defending again?

Nice try Zionist troll but this pic is picturing the 168 schoolgirls killed by an Israeli strike of an all girls elementary school in Tehran yesterday. The implication is they’re resting in heaven . Nothing untoward about this ala Epstein

Why isn’t American media reporting the school that got bombed? 168 girls aged 5-10 were killed and many injured or missing. What was their crime and what did they have to do with 85 year Old Ayatollah khomeini?

The child killing cult of Israel is what the state should really call itself.

Trump said a few times at random that he hopes he’d make it to heaven which tells me he struggles with his conscience in private. I don’t know if bombing schoolchildren or raping teenage girls on Epstein island is the stairway to heaven

It’s weird though. This whole Iran fiasco is unpopular with MAGA because it directly contravenes the entire America First principle. So who is DCUM MAGA shilling for?

They never actually believed any of those so-called principles. It was always a lie

I disagree. I think war is the one thing maga is upset about regarding Trump. 27% of the country support this war. About 50% of the country is maga (maybe a bit more)

+1. A large part of MAGA base is anti war. Trump and Vance campaigned for YEARS explicity stating no new wars and mocking prior Middle East wars. Those people are beyond pissed off and betrayed. Trump and anyone associated is FINISHED. They aren't going to win anything without this part of the base who will either not vote gain or vote Dem.

The only people cheering this on really are the older pro war neocon part of the party like Lindsay Graham that got us into Iraq/Afghanistan. If John McCain were still alive, he'd be thrilled.

Former State Dept. official Joel Rubin says Trump’s 2018 decision to kill the Iran Deal led to his previous bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites. “This was a position we should never have been in… because of his recklessness.”

Trump didn’t only start a war.

He caused it.
