Why are you people traveling now?!

You guys are misunderstanding- she said ok to travel LOL. Unlike OP. So no reason for DCUM posters to be even more conservative than Leana wen was my point.

It’s OK to travel, but not up until the minute school begins. you don’t get back on Sunday night and start class on Monday. Common sense.

If you drove and did outdoor activities - I see no problem with it.

Are you peeing in the woods and taking all of your own food, staying in a tent? Electric car on full charge? At some point you’re moving from no contact to excessive contact in any type of travel. So yeah, there is a problem with it if we’re trying to get out kids in school. So even up to two weeks ago (or two weeks before your district went back) maybe all of that would’ve been OK. But at some point you have to say hey don’t travel past this date if we want our kids in school.

Could you maybe consider that it’s not necessarily about being right or wrong or someone is saying you’re a bad person and that it’s just not thinking through the impact on other people?

Get a grip. You could have the same exposure going to the grocery store. You haven’t left your house for 2 weeks before school?

Again you seem really mad that you cannot control other people.

Because I’m not sacrificing any more of my life to Covid. If someone is scared of covid, they should get vaccinated. Staying home and not travel for FIVE plus years for an illness that mainly affects the elderly (who can now get vaccinated!) is crazy. It’s simply a form of anxiety and people (mostly women) trying to have control over something in this crazy world.

I drove to Florida back in February in late February. My kids were still in virtual school. Disney crowds were so low and everyone was masked. I actually felt surprisingly safe. Some friends back home were doing indoor gatherings.

I didn’t dare post our Disney pictures. We also went to universal and legoland. All parks were empty as it wasn’t a school break time plus capacity limitations.

I wouldn’t go to Disney now.

Lol you really do need to get a grip - for your own sake - not mine. Gas stations are outdoors so you definitely do not need to have an electric car, for one. You can also rent a house for your family only, so you don’t need to pee in the woods, for two.

This attitude - any contact is excessive contact - is really nuts.

Asking folks to be cautious is not being controlling. It’s interesting that it’s being contorted into that freedumb motif.

Your version of cautious is insane. It's fine if you want to live that way but not everyone has the same version of cautious. It's a free country.

Not to mention that telling vaccinated, perfectly-happy-to-wear-a-mask families that they can’t even travel is ridiculous. We are not the people you are mad at so stop taking it out on us. I’m so glad I don’t do social media.

Ask your kids teachers how they feel about you coming back from Florida this week.

They’re probably there too.

So true. Not to mention all the people cramming into Rehoboth this long weekend. And the people dining out or going to the gym locally.
