Are you going by USNWR? Because there are more than a few schools ranked "below" W&M that I'd put above it, like UT Austin and UIUC for starters.

I'm assuming that when someone mentions a ranking of top public universities in the country, they are referring to USNWR. If there is another ranking out there, other than the one that exists inside random individuals' heads, let's discuss.

It's 11th on USNWR and 8th on Niche. And 4th for undergraduate teaching on USNWR, tied with Princeton.
