LOL. Ok, you got us! It's terrible, only tied for 11th.

Are you going by USNWR? Because there are more than a few schools ranked "below" W&M that I'd put above it, like UT Austin and UIUC for starters.

Not the UT Austin booster again. UT is NOT better than W&M academically.

Most people outside of Virginia would disagree with you.

UIUC is a lot more than engineering/computer science/business and the humanities count towards ranking too.

DP. Doubt it.

Interesting. I'd put William and Mary at around Rutgers or UConn level. If you think those schools are prestigious then yes, I supposed W&M is also prestigious.

Why is that delusional? Rutgers and UConn are excellent universities.

I don’t know or care whether it’s prestigious (and have no connection and don’t even live in VA). But for an undergrad experience it is likely better than at those very large schools which are stronger in graduate programs.

My god, so W&M alums are not only deluded about the supposed prestige of their alma mater, they're also incredibly arrogant and condescending to other schools in their tier.

I'm assuming that when someone mentions a ranking of top public universities in the country, they are referring to USNWR. If there is another ranking out there, other than the one that exists inside random individuals' heads, let's discuss.

Interesting... I’d say W&M = Middlebury meets UNCCH. It also has unique historical component that no other uni has (other than Harvard).

It would be about the only state school anywhere that could be described as a mashup of Middlebury and UNC.

W&M is the Harvard of Williamsburg.

Nuff said.
