I'm not wrong. "Should is nothing more than your opinion. For the third time, he's not going to be fired and will not step down no matter how many times you throw yourselves on the ground, pound your fists and stomp your feet. |
Nope. Just a realist. No matter how much you scream, shout, cry, rage at the clouds, he is neither quitting nor getting fired. It. Is. Not. Going. To. Happen. P.S. All the hysterical efforts to get school board members recalled in local districts aren't going to happen either. Welcome to adulthood. |
Yep, they're all clowns. |
Hmm so people should ignore what he has done. You have no idea if he will be forced to step down. Will be interesting to see what the Governor says or how this can be brought up next state election. People are way too clueless what is going on in their own backyard. It is the contempt this man has for his own constituents that is so troubling. He should know how emotionally dangerous it has been for all these kids not to be in school. If any school can organize to have their campus comply with safety then he should have been supportive. His job is not what he defines as equity. |
“welcome to adulthood” where republicans are going to sweep the midterms and possibly presidency in large part because of local mishandling of the pandemic, especially schools. |
How do you know? Sounds like Dr. Gayles has joined our message board. |
I don't think the county officials envy anyone (they all make good money and many send their kids to private, like Jawando). But they are solely focused on underprivileged groups in the County. I wish there was a more balanced approach. Equity approaches are supposed to make everyone thrive. Not help one group do better at the expense of another. Private schools and their students' families have every right to work hard to meet needed health protocols that allow them to attend in person. And the County has every right to focus on helping marginalized families weather the COVID storm. Why does it have to be either/or in the minds of County leaders? |
DP.. I don't think it will, especially because the local Rs who run for office here seem to be on the too far right side. Also, dcum is a bubble. A very large portion of the population are fine with the way MCPS handled things. Case in point: less than half of all MCPS students have returned to in person. |
I worked harder than you and make my child's education a priority in my spending. Your envy and disdain are clear - as is Gayles. |
| Shows how stupid MOCO is. Now that they have driven out business and wealthy elderly the only draw it has left is convenience to excellent and plentiful private schools. The publics are now only for the poor, overwhelmed or confused families. MOCO will now drive out the privates and the excellent country clubs to complete its race toward slovenly misery. |
That's true - I saw the folks at Congressional packing up their golf course and getting ready to move it to Virginia. |
A good location for Biden’s high density housing for the poor. |
The health officer in AA isn't much better. |
| Ehh... speaking as a private school parent, his emails don't seem particularly troublesome to me. The email he was responding to was in fact obnoxious (e.g., use of "precious"), and I have no problem with his staff laughing about that. |
|
In case you missed it, the writer of the article, Tim Carney, asked Gayles about the emails during the county press conference on Wednesday. The expressions on his and Elrich's faces were priceless. Loved that Time was able to share the screen and show the email "in context." The interchange begins at 25:16.
