Over 40's don't care to "impress" anyone and we don't think we look less attractive. We like comfort and if you think we look "less attractive" than that is a you problem.

HELL TO THE YES!

This thread is depressing as f#ck. Women! don't do this to yourselves! The beauty industry is laughing all the way to the bank, cackling at their success at making us all feel bad about ourselves, and police other women for looking.... LIKE PEOPLE!

Gah. Why do I even come here.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but why are you in the Beauty & Fashion forum? It's going to be about looking good to other people and staying on trend. It's in the name.

Recent topics pp! It als comes up there!!!!!

And you can't look at which forum the thread is in, if you are not interested in those topics, because ... ?

Is it bashing to point out that saying she doesn't have undereye makeup was wrong? There were several posts saying that this was only in old pictures.

Seems appropriate here. She looks flawless

True. The mask helps.

You are just as ugly on the inside after that remark.

NP. Get over yourself. She looks ugly and old. PP just expressed it in a nicer way.

I was referring to the "hideous" posters.

Fair enough.

I think she's a woman nearing middle age, just like so many others, and she is heavily scrutinized for her physical appearance -- probably moreso than almost anyone else in the world.

I hope she has moments of calm and peace when she can forget about monitoring what she looks like.

Cheap matte one dimensional looking dark color hair dye. So it looks like doll hair.

Failure to remove facial growths.

Spending money on new boobs when you really need botox or nose job. or both

Ugly brassy highlights or dye job that looks necky. Just go dark.

For eyeshadow, you don’t want the ones that get huge reviews because “they’re so pigmented”. You want the ones that take some building so you can put on just a bit. I also have started using nude/pale pink eyeliners in the lower last line to open up my eye. No smoky eye, ever. Satin and light shimmers can work as eyeshadow, but no glitter.

What's "necky?"

Bobbi brown eyeshadow is great for a mature eye. Also L’Oréal Lumi foundation or hourglass vanish stick foundation. Plus, glow drops are a godsend.

Most women still working in DC over 40 actually have decent professional style that works for them. They may not be a socialite, but usually they look good.

What’s wrong with this?

It makes your skin look monotone, older, and accentuates wrinkles and pores. Whether you use Armani or cover girl, doesn’t matter. Up close in person it doesn’t look natural or flattering but especially on older skin

NP. I don’t know this. What should we do then?

NP. Just use concealer where you need it

This is not good advice. One can use all-over foundation and it won't look monotone when properly blended and primed. Add a bit of bronzer and highlighter.

So more makeup on top of a face covered in makeup. Unless you are on stage, no or instagram modeling, no.

Hey, if you don’t know how to put on make-up, that’s cool.

Makeup all over topped with more makeup to give dimension still looks like you are covered in makeup. It doesn’t look natural to anyone within 10 feet of you and it ages you, but maybe it is a better look than your natural skin if you don’t have good skin In the first place. Not everyone does, but if you do, you will look better And younger without a full face of it.

Bunch of mean people on this thread. It’s surprising how mean people are about other people’ s looks! Women don’t exist to please aesthetically. It’s like if we were all pointing at and making fun of your work style or cooking or parenting. She’s not doing it for you, and she didn’t volunteer to be the object of your critiques on the aging appearance of women. She is just living. Leave other women out of your assessments.
