Homicide is not up 300%. This is a ridiculous statement. |

Let evolution take its course. Mother Nature always wins in the end.

Homicides in Montgomery County, Maryland: 2014: 19 2015: 30 2016: 15 2017: 23 2018: 20 2019: 15 2020: 17 2021 to date (based on press releases): 13 (1 Clarksburg, 4/13) + 2 (White Oak, 3/25) + 1 (Silver Spring, 3/15) + 1 (North Kensington, 3/8) + 1 (Gaithersburg, 2/5) + 1 (Wheaton, 1/23) + 1 (Hillandale, 1/19) + 1 (Wheaton/Glenmont, 1/14) + 1 (Bel Pre, 1/12) + 1 (Gaithersburg, 1/10) + 1 (Germantown, 1/5) + 1 (Clarksburg, 1/4)). For homicides to be up 300% compared to last year, the 2021 year-end total would be 51. I will note also that several of those homicides were domestic-related, and domestic-related homicides are up all over the country, reflecting the increase in domestic violence during the pandemic. |
DP here. If we consider 13 homicides through April 2021 (and really there are 2 more weeks for April), that's just 1/3 of the current year. If that number continues, the total for the year is well on its way towards 40. Not a good trend. |
| I am more concerned about the bad cops that are currently on the force than problems finding new cops with better skills. I think the job has attracted bad actors in the past because of the latitude cop have for being able to beat and shoot people. That needs to change. |
That's bad statistics, though. So we shouldn't do that. And we certainly shouldn't conclude that Montgomery County has suddenly become a more violent place because county council members saidthings that hurt the feelings of the FOP. |

The answer is to radically reduce police interactions with the public by radically reducing the number of laws on the books.
Traffic laws can be enforced by mailing tickets, and ultimately, putting a lien on the vehicle. Drug laws should be repealed. Individual safety is best handled by robust self-defense. Bullies don't mess with people who can kill them. |
Here's a story about who keeps social workers ("they are all women" -LOL) safe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Charles_Kinsey |
You start off strong. Duante Wright was pulled over for an air freshner. An obvious pretext. But where you get weak is when you try to tell us that safety is only for the strong. GTFO here with that. |
Antoinette Tuff is an "unarmed female" who stopped a school shooting with words. She was a bookkeeper, not a social worker, though. Maybe that's why she was able to do it.

He should not have been shot, but to clarify I believe he also had an expired tag. |
I've driven with expired tags (forgot to put the new sticker on). Nobody has ever pulled me over for it. -white lady in the suburbs |
This white lady got a $150 ticket ten years ago for driving in Georgia with a tag sticker that expired 2 weeks earlier (on my birthday). |
And here you are... alive and well the regale us with the story of your $150 ticket. And yet Mr. Wright isn't. Thats the point. |
PP here. I was responding to the other "whitelady" who did not mention anything other than not being pulled over. FWIW, you're right...im still alive and well; and I've never carjacked or mugged anyone or committed armed robbery either. |
