She is fine being a celebrity here as long as she can make connections. Ralph Lauren, Meghan Markle, Indira Nooyi, Satya Nadella, part owner of Indian cricket team, friends with Mindy Kaling and Hasan Minhaj. Democratic party BIG fund raiser for Kamala Harris, investing in vineyards in Maharashtra/France/Italy and California, Jonas Bros music industry connection, 50 Cents pal, Bumble investor, investing in silicon valley and real estate. She is an absolutely astute and hard working business woman who thinks very big. Without having any big roles in Hollywood, she has finagled her way into lots of places and opportunities. So WOW!

She is basically a business Tycoon who happens to also be a Bollywood actress. She knows she is too old to be the leading lady in Hollywood (and now also Bollywood) and has her fingers in too many pies to chase old dreams. BTDT. She produces her own movies in Bollywood (The sky is Pink) and markets the hell out of it. She will systematically get everything in life...a kid is next in the checklist. Wildly successful. She thinks like a man. She has also styled herself as a philanthropist - women led businesses as well as UNICEF ambassador.

Agreed. I’m a South Asian, FWIW.. I don’t find Priyanka gorgeous. There are other Bollywood actresses who are far more attractive and intresting. Priyanka comes off as trying too hard to stay in the spotlight.

I grew up in a school as the only Indian, only Asian altogether.. Showing my age here. It was so difficult not having anyone that looks like me not in school, not in magazines, in toys, on TV. Our first representation in the media was Apu on The Simpsons. Goodness, as if the teasing and bullying wasn’t bad enough before that.

We unfortunately also have a problem of self hating South Asians. They yearn for white acceptance and will gleefully tear their own down. I admire and have so much respect for how black women will stand up for one another and accept that beauty comes in all shades, sizes, and features.
