There is validity to the argument that the new landscape hurts McLean's ability to dominate. Girs have multiple options to play on strong teams w/good coaches. But let's be serious for a moment:

1. MU is a dead man walking.
2. 0Arlington does not have a track record of producing elite DI players.
3. BRYC has produced a select number of DI players but they will suffer from the same dynamics impacting McLean.
4. Loudoun will always lose out to either FCV or McLean.
5. VDA has potential and does not face the same level of competition for players as Loudoun, FCV, McLean and Arlington.

Point #5 here is interesting as the VDA 06G spanked Loudoun twice (plus a third time if you count scrimmage) by combined score of 8-1 and VDA beat McLean twice by combined score of 5-1. Can't make generalizations at all across all age groups. VDA doesn't play FCV or Arlington (DA). So, trash your list and start over if able. I know, I know... 03, 04, 05... blah blah. But, you can't make a statement like #5 and then get destroyed on the point.

Let's not forget that two years ago VDA 06G went to Nationals Championship game in San Diego only to lose to PDA Blue. How often does NOVA clubs go to National Championship games? #trashlist

McLean won a U18 national championship in 2018 and went deep into the playoffs in 2019 I believe.

NP - but PP likely meant #5 to show that VDA doesn’t have to worry about losing players to close geographic competition. Kids can swap between BRYC/Arlington/McLean pretty easily, since they are geographically close. Loudoun lost players to FCV. Who is the closest real competing club for VDA? It would be a long drive.

McLean won U19 ECNL national championship in 2018 and lost in National finals in 2019. They were #1 seed last year before Covid canceled nationals.
