You be the judge, did thy make that a priority?

What is your point?
From the link you provided, I see 13 kids who are non-white.

What if POC aren't interested in working on the paper?

Should kids of color be FORCED to join, simply because those with no ties to the paper (sans googling an article from 14 months ago) now think it should be a "priority"?

Why have you now deemed the staff too white, but prior to George Floyd's murder, where was your concern?

Every single kid, no matter what color they are, has to have an actual INTEREST in an activity to want to spend time after school doing it.

I'm AA, and there is absolutely no possible way I would have worked on a high school paper because I have ZERO interest in it, let alone because someone else thinks I should.

Based on the current staff, they definitely don't appear to be trying to keep the kids of color out.
So, what exactly is your point?

Until a student of color comes forward and says that they really wanted to work on the paper, but they believe they were denied doing so because of their skin color, this argument is laughable and grasping at straws to fit a certain narrative.

You CANNOT force kids to sign up for an activity that they have no interest in whatsoever... most especially because some are worried about some "perceived" affirmative action quota, or because all of a sudden this issue has become a priority to non POC (who've never given it a second thought prior to their new found & guilt driven SJW cause).

And with that being said, please share...
When did this particular issue become important to you?
What have you done thus far to make this right?

Thank you for this. Agree with you completely.

You actually believe this is the first time people have concerns over Whitman lack of diversity? Where have you been living? Under a rock?
You're AA and I'm from India

There are few AA or Hispanic kids at these schools. The boundaries are clearly gerrymandered to ensure this. When the county averages 35%+ FARMS these schools are at 5% or less.

LOL. Your Blair envy is showing up but we are talking about racist incidents again, about your w school.

What’s more racist, halls filled with minorities saying to each other thousands a time a day or a white school where the kids are terrfyied to use it and get called out publicly if the do?

Eat at any of the restaurants or the McDonald’s by blair during lunch or after school. The N word is a way bigger problem at Blair, they are just too dumb to realize it

It is more racist for while kids to use it than it is for kids of color. Yes, you are right.

Besides, do the Blair kids also spray paint nooses around campus? That's a direct threat of violence right there. It's racialized terrorism, aimed at making Whitman and other predominantly white institutions inhospitable to Black kids.

There are certain hallways at Blair where white kids are not allow to go and there are certain areas in the lunchroom where the same thing is true. You want to see racialized terrorism have your white kid try to enter one of those white-free-zones.

"POC" aren't fungible.

Also, if no non-white people were interested in working on the high school paper, in a high school with almost 2,000 students, that would be kind of weird, wouldn't it? A person might wonder why. It's not like teenagers' interest in journalism is biologically linked to European ancestry, like the −13910*T European lactase persistence gene.

Nice try but whataboutry particularly the made-up variety doesn't make Whitman any less racist.

Speaking of the Whitman newspaper, it's telling that, though they have been publishing content during the pandemic, they have 1 article about BLM. It's a video about the Bethesda protest.

Absolutely no other content. It would've been nice if they had written an opinion article calling for more tolerance at the school, but maybe they just care that much about it.

Get ready for a major student swap between Whitman and Wheaton when the boundary analysis is finally implemented.

Thank you for completely agreeing so people can see it just how racist/ignorant about race the masses are at Whitman.

So let me get this straight.....

1. If you are against forcing a black student to do unpaid work (at the newspaper) against their will is they are racist.
2. If you are in favor of forcing black kids to do unpaid work (at the newspaper) against their will you are NOT racist?

.... Got it. You are so woke you sleep-woke around your neighborhood at night protesting the black sky.

If you bothered to use comma, other people would have better time to understand you. Or you think comma is for white only?
