Miami Ohio was always popular. Especially DC Catholic school kids. |

Wisconsin Northeastern Wash U |
A) it is not growing in popularity. It has lost its reputation. B) It has become very easy to get in to with a a selectivity rate of 42%. C) every single college in America can claim "record number" of applications because students now apply to 15 instead of 5 schools. D) Oxy is on the "will struggle financially" list. |
Wouldn’t say “very easy”- there are schools with 80%+ acceptance rate. |
And Long Island Jewish kids, oy. |
| People here putting Elon on same level as Davidson and Wake Forest are crazy. Yes, better than it was 10 years ago and fine school but it is no where close to Davidson and WF which are elite Stone Ridge go to schools. |
Pretty strange that there’s a resident Oxy troll. They were over enrolled last year, and took stronger applicants. (All bets off this year.) In the near term the reputation/selectivity/popularity from the DC area have all been growing. Sure, at some point along the way they did not keep pace with Pomona, but that’s ancient history, they are gaining ground compared to current peers. |
| Marymount in Arlington is becoming more popular with undergraduate students. |

If Oxy was good enough for Obama, a Nobel prize winner and a one-time Washington politician, it’s good enough for your kids. |
You seem to forget that he left Oxy. |
But those are Cal States, and other large state schools, not a SLAC at $76k-+ a year. |
| Wisconsin has been popular since the 60s. Who do you think were protesting the Vietnam War? DMV kids or locals? |
Yep. My kid applied to Lafayette (was WL and then rejected) and the NPC was only FA awards for dc. They do give merit but it’s either full tuition or none basically. |
