| Being inclusive is great but minimizing sacrifices of mothers for their children for equating it to being a mom to a virtual or real pet isn't only insensitive but disrespectful. |
| It would be like celebrating everyone who isn't native American on Native American day but actual Native Americans. |
| I think if your kids think you love them and saw you celebrating mother's day when they were young, they try to do something to acknowledge it as adults, even if a call or a text. |
So don’t. Who’s forcing you? Are you a mindless sheep? |
You and OP have the same phrasing. But it isn't really celebrating everyone BUT "actual mother's" on Mother's Day, is it? Aren't your children doing something for you? Aren't there articles and programs everywhere around for mothers? Your problem isn't that everyone but mothers are being celebrated; it's that ANYONE other than mothers (as you accept them) are being mentioned along with mothers today. |
Yes correct. If you didn’t carry a child for 10 months and birth them, today is not your day. Take a seat. Thank your own mother. Do some self reflection and try to figure out why you need to be celebrated as a mother when you aren’t one. |
There are 364 days in a year which can be dedicated to pet moms. |
|
If you aren't a mother yourself, you still can celebrate your mom, your grannies, your step-mom, your MIL, your god mother or whoever you consider a mom figure for you.
If we want human species to continue and mothers to value their children, we gotta show moms and others the value this role has. |
| If you aren't a mom, you still can play a motherly role by adoption, step mothering, fostering or mentoring a child, being a motherly aunt to your own or your husband's nieces and nephews. |
Sadly, now society puts human needs below pet needs. |
All these things still don’t make a person a mother. |
| Case in point. The dog moms are over in the pets section wishing themselves a happy Mother’s Day. |
Today, holding space for all the people who thought they were part Native American but did a dna test and realized it was only family lore, people who wish they were Native American, people who don’t want to be Native American, people who’s ancestors slaughtered Native Americans… No wait that all sounds insane! |
Yup, and reporting and deleting posts that point out Mother’s Day isn’t for pet owners. |
Why do you think this is personal to me? It's like you lash out at everything. Try to do better. |
