Names from Greek mythology: Athena, Artemis, Achilles, Aeaea (the island Circe lived on), Apollo. But I’m not Greek so I can’t justify any of them!

Love this thread, love to see it pop up. Here are some of mine and the reasons my DH or I shot them down:

Daisy (deemed too cute and not a "real name by DH, I love it)
Marigold (ridiculous to DH, but I adore it)
Summer (too hippy-dippy to DH, I think it's elegant and soothing)
Flora (too old lady to DH, I think it sounds fresh and inviting)
Violetta (we decided too close to Violet, and we know two Violets)

Hugo (too French, we are not French)
King (seemed arrogant, I still love it, my brother and SIL wound up using it as a middle name and I am glad)
Ephram (we are not Jewish)
Mordecai (we are not Jewish)

I love the name Crystal. Would never use it because it’s deemed stripper-ish.

Perhaps better suited to pets than people, sigh....

I know a Persephone. It suits her beautifully.
