Guilty pleasure baby names

DH would never go for something like that, and it's probably too much to give a baby the burden of having to tell everyone how to pronounce their name.

I also love a lot of the nature names people have mentioned

Same. I have some Irish ancestry (but doesn't every white person) but not real direct connections. Would have felt like a poser, but I liked:

Niahm
Mairéad
Seamus

I really wanted to name DD Saoirse but DH hates Irish names. He only likes ultra timeless, mostly Biblical names like Sarah, Elizabeth, Daniel, etc.

Sabine
Nadia
Natasha
Selene
Selah
Hero
Hera

Damien
Wyatt
Ronan
Archer
Asher
Felix
Sawyer
Carl
Victor
Vincent

I love your girl names- our daughter is one of them

I hope it’s Selene. I almost had my DH committed to Selene but he thought she would forever be correcting from Celine. Which is true but doesn’t diminish my love for the name.

DP. I love this list too. Hero is my absolute favorite girl name I would never use because DH would hate it.

Adelaide

Bennett, nn Benny. My husband almost gagged.
Daisy
Penny (Penelope got too popular)

Lucrezia- I love it in Italian and Lucretia is a poor substitute with pronunciation I don't love

Alma- Simple, cool. Easily spelled. People have a visceral reaction of hatred to this.

Petra: "It means rock" and is ugly

On Greek names, I quite like "Cressida" but Prince Harry dated one and now it is a no.

Noa for a girl (both love, but have a nephew Noah)

Avi
Gideon

I actually knew a Gideon. The family was super religious, so their kids all had biblical names. But the name really worked on this kid.

I love all of these and particularly love Penny and Daisy as sisters. You could do Penelope and Margaret full names to give them other options, which I think is really nice.

I like Bennett/Benny too. Actually, Bennett is a nice alternative to people who want a Ben but feel Benajamin has gotten too popular.

I LOVE Gideon for a boy. I'm not Jewish, though, and I feel like it wouldn't work. Ironically my daughter has a Hebrew Biblical name but it's not easily recognized as such.

Collier. Heard it on a TV show and really liked it. DH said no.

Pip. I met the most beautiful little girl in the playground a couple weeks ago and her name was Pip. I don’t know if it was a nickname or her full name but I absolutely love it!

It's a name that is used a lot by very religious Christians too, not just Jewish people. I mean, it wouldn't work for ME either way as I'm not religious at all. But I have met several Gideons and none of them were Jewish.
