I LOVE Gideon for a boy. I'm not Jewish, though, and I feel like it wouldn't work. Ironically my daughter has a Hebrew Biblical name but it's not easily recognized as such.

I named my dog Gideon because I chickened out on using it for an actual child. I love it so much though, I wish I had just used it.

I know a Willa! I think it’s a very pretty name. Though now it makes me think of the character on Succession which is probably not the association my friend was going for when she named her daughter. 😂

I love the name Clementine but didn’t seriously consider it because people always shorten long names and I didn’t ever want someone calling her Clem.

Also the song is very sad but that doesn’t deter me that much. Many feminine names have a tragic namesake. It’s somewhat hard to avoid.

Not Gideon, but my BH and I went back and forth on male dog names for so long, we finally settled and I think we both regret we didn't save it for our impending male kid.

I love the names Eloise and Noel. I’m Jewish, so sadly Noel was a hard no.

I love your girl names- our daughter is one of them

I hope it’s Selene. I almost had my DH committed to Selene but he thought she would forever be correcting from Celine. Which is true but doesn’t diminish my love for the name.

DP. I love this list too. Hero is my absolute favorite girl name I would never use because DH would hate it.

Were you also obsessed with the Much Ado About Nothing that had Kate Beckinsake as Hero? I love that version.

Not an unusual name but I love the name Lucy. Unfortunately, our last name has two L's so an L first name makes too much of a tongue-twister. If our next dog is a girl I'll lobby to name it Lucy.
