Cut it super short and it could be an ice skaters outfit.

Yes. And it would look better by giving her the illusion of a waist if it flared out like a skater.

I hate it when celebrities go over the top with these sheer outfits.

I'm a Rachel Brosnahan fan too because of Mrs. Maisel, but I found her quite forgettable in House of Cards. Anyway, it's amazing what a makeover transformation can do:

Also, I'm surprised Bohemian Rhapsody did so well. It was panned by the critics, so I was shocked the HFPA picked it for Best Drama.

Also, what's up with both Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born NOT being categorized under Best Comedy or Musical?!? These were clearly both Musical films.

What a weird year.

I think both of these movies/biopics were dramas about musicians, not musicals, per se. No dancing sequences, catchy-type songs and the like. That is why they were not considered musicals.

Agree on the distinction between musical and movie about music.

Bohemian Rhapsody was an amazing movie. The fan reviews are MUCH higher than that critic ratings on sites like rotten tomatoes. So it seems to have resonated with audiences. Maybe SBR would have been a better Freddie, but Malek was excellent.

I also loved a Star is Born, but not as much as BR. Gaga should have won an award, not so sure about Cooper.

The thing is Hollywood doesn't like Gaga, they find her pretentious, and phony, fake. They found her campaign fake and she was fake. Bradley Cooper is getting rep for being snotty and difficult too. So, yeah, it is about entertainment politics.(because it is wrong for a singer to be difficult among great acting egos?!) Plus this is foreign press, and Queen is European band, you need to ask how many of them actually were into Live Aid and Queen in 1985 and how many of them give a crap about Gaga? The answer is clear, they care more about Freddie Mercury because they remember it. I am not saying it is right or fair, it is just movie industry and preference.

I don’t know that Hollywood hates Gaga, but at least HFPA wasn’t giving up the biggest acting globe to someone on the scene for 2 seconds. If the globe went to Glenn Close solely for The Wife or a nod to her body of work, she’s a deserving winner.

Interesting.

Her role in House of Cards pretty much scarred me from ever wanting to see her on screen again.
Especially the way she.... exited the show.

Admittedly I haven’t seen either The Wife or A Star is Born yet but I was pretty stoked for Glenn Close. I read something about how Gaga herself was awestruck by Close so I doubt she’s mourning too much about it.

What did Singer do to make Malek want him off the film?

Singer raped a teenager.

woah-- "the director of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Bryan Singer is facing new allegations published in the Atlantic on Wednesday that he engaged in sexual misconduct with underage boys.

In the report, four men allege that Singer had sexual encounters with them when they were teenagers in the late 1990s. One of the men, Victor Valdovinos, says he was a 13-year-old extra on the set of “Apt Pupil” when Singer fondled his genitals.

The three other accusers are identified in the story by pseudonyms. One, identified in the story as Andy, says that he had sex with Singer when he was 15. Another man, identified as Eric, says he was 17 when he began having sex with the director. Singer would have been 31 at the time. The third man, Ben, alleges that he and Singer had oral sex when he was 17 or 18.

“He would stick his hands down your pants without consent,” the man told the Atlantic. “He was predatory in that he would ply people with alcohol and drugs and then have sex with them.”

Wow! I'll have what she's having.

But seriously I'd love to see someone dissect exactly how she transformed from A to B there.
