Also, I'm surprised Bohemian Rhapsody did so well. It was panned by the critics, so I was shocked the HFPA picked it for Best Drama.

Also, what's up with both Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born NOT being categorized under Best Comedy or Musical?!? These were clearly both Musical films.

What a weird year.

I am so, so glad Bohemian Rhapsody won! Maybe it was just US critics that disliked it? Anyway, it is great that it recognized that this movie was liked by audiences young, old and middle aged. Critics are so useless today and detached from reality more than DJT. I think you can't possibly categorize biopic about a singer that dies of aids as a comedy. It would be political wrong, and this time I agree on that with Hollyweird. Didn't watch A Star is Born, so can't comment on that.

Seriously. Christian Bale transforms himself for Vice (as usual) and Malik does what, put in some fake teeth and he gets best actor? yeah sure great.

Rami Malek was terrific, completely deserving, far more than Bradley Cooper whose performance was overdone. I have the sense he thinks it’s “owed” to him. I haven’t seen Vice, but Christian Bales performance also seemed great.

bohemian rhapsody was phenomenal. I couldn’t believe how this young actor, plucked from relative actor obscurity, rose to such an occasion and was rewarded. Good for him.

Didn’t Malik win an Emmy for iRobot?

It's Mr. Robot, but yeah, he was hardly obscure.

Haha to iRobot ;P Mr. Robot is entering its 4th Season. Rami AND Christian Slater have won awards for their acting on the show, and it won best drama in 2016. You may not watch it, but it isn't obscure.

No I'm a huge Queen fan too--but after Sasha Baron Cohen dropped out I assumed it would suck because why else did he quit? Cohen or Bale would have been my choice for Freddy. But point taken, I should probably see it.

Rami nailed it. I didn't pay attention as to whether or not the cameras panned over to SBC when Rami was accepting his award, and Bohemian theirs. Would have liked to have seen that.

What did Singer do to make Malek want him off the film?

Singer raped a teenager.

Freddie Mercury was of Indian Parsi descent. I am glad to see an Egyptian American playing him.

Hmm. I thought she needed a stylist.

Not a good shade for her.

And it’s January. That was a summer dress.

I feel like the weather rules don't apply in L.A. (or Miami). I liked the yellow dress, but didn't love it.

Ca-native here — yes, we don’t follow the same seasonal rules as one does on the east coast (where I lived for 12 years).

I thought she looked amazing in that yellow dress. Her eyes just pop. Such a pretty shade of blue, I normally am not much for pale, pale skin---but hers is milky and not sickly.

Actually, I think she’s cooled it since her lips and boobs blew up a dozen years ago. They’ve all since resumed their normal size.

She still looks really melty/waxy here...

Her husband is so gross.

You may not like his music or rocker look for her but he’s not in any way gross.

He is no alpha male so I don't consider him sexy at all. Yuck.

He didn't. Singer gave a statement after he was fired that it had nothing to do with Malek. Google it. Do you really think an actor that had one other notable role could fire Singer?
